A: A lot of the time the name comes to me first, then the design stuff.  Such as, Requiem just sounded like a vampire name.  Yin/Yang were obvious, but almost ended up being Ebony/Ivory.

Q: can someone explain the brush numbers a bit more?  Must find teeny tiny short ones.

A. For standard brushes the higher the number the bigger the brush. When it comes to detail brushes the opposite applies - the larger the number the smaller the brush. Detail brushes will numbered followed by /0 - 5/0, 10/0, 18/0 and 20/0. Spotters will have short bristles and liners will have longer bristles. I prefer liners because they hold more paint and last longer. The spotters are so short that it's hard not to get dried paint in the ferrule of the brush (the part that holds the bristles to the handle). If you need any more info feel free to PM me. ;)

Q. What's your favorite paint brand?

A. I have a pretty extensive collection of delta ceramcoat, so that's my go-to.

I have so many!  I will randomly pick one (lol):
Cherry Pie, Blizzard, After Midnight!  Very patriotic!

Do you have a pose you cannot stand?

A: nope, I like all the poses! I'm not into the customizing aspect of "oh, it's an mlp", but more "this is a cool, original canvas to work with!", so the pose doesn't really matter to me :)

Q: Do you have an artistic background, such as something you did throughout school, or did you just get into this for the fun creative crafting-ness and found that you're good at painting and sculpting and design and such?

A: Kind of I guess.  My maternal grandmother was a cosmotologist and then after she retired did lots of sewing and crafting which she would sell at craft fairs, etc.  My mother did leather working, painting, and ukranian easter eggs (which she sells on etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/barbaranovak) , and went to school to become an art teacher.  So, I grew up around a lot of arts and crafts and have always had some type of hobby involving things like that...I honestly couldn't imagine not making things, I would lose my mind.  Other than grade school and high school, I've never been to school for art or taken art classes.  (unless you count community summer art camps when I was like 8 lol)

I discovered customizing back in 2001 when I started collecting MLPs again.  It seemed like fun (which it is!) even though my first few customs were disasters!  I've gotten back into it for several reasons, but mostly because I love ponies and enjoy it.  Now that I'm in a situation where I don't have to work outside the home, I finally have time to again.  :)

Q: What are your favorite tools to use/couldn't live without while sculpting?

A: the only tool I ever use is my xacto knife. And occasionally the end of a pin.

Q: if you could only use one pose for the rest of your custom career, what would it be?

A: I keep picture this fallen pegasus in my mind.....reposed to be kneeling on his front hooves, face down, wings cascading around him.....
I dunno though, it would be months of work!

(I'm at work too! lol)
Q: Do you prefer G4 boy hooves, G3 boy hooves (non existant), or G1 boy hooves?

A. I prefer G1 boy hooves. They have more detailed hair.. And I honestly cannot remember a G3 boy mold.

Q. What is the most challenging custom you have made, and what made it stand out as the most challenging?

A: My Andalite...because it involved adding body parts.  lol  (I almost typoed that as BOY parts :lmao: )

Q: Do you prefer to find a bait with the color you need if possible, or just painting the whole thing? (FBR)

A: Painting the whole thing, I love the way the paint goes on and its much easier to draw out the design when its painted as well

Q: Has there ever been anything you've done while customizing that you have decided you would never do again because it was too complicated, didn't look good, was too difficult or for whatever other reason?
