This fellow was started awhile ago and I believe buried in the archives is an old thread on em, which I will look for at some point and link in, but in the meantime if anyone wishes here is a link to that part of his creation - http://s21.photobucket.com/user/CrocusCottage/library/shaunasboy?sort=3&page=1.  Ziggy began life as a Breyer Flash and in the end will be a Marcus Illionis Flame Mane jumper.

But I am finally back in my studio as time permits and one of my promises to myself was to clear all my old work out this year so here we go.     I shall share his pose and mane reference photo, his trappings are going to be a combination of several horses all Illionis but we are not there yet.

One thing that had bothered me was his teeth and tongue so they got worked on.

So here we go - pose and mane shot -

To create his flame mane, I used wire inserted into a base of Magic Sculpt Apoxie on his neck.  Then that was covered with painters tape, once done I draw out the shape of mane I wanted, then cut it out with a scissors and wire nippers.

Once the painters tape and shaped, it is coated with super glue and baking soda to make a nice hard surface to apply the Magic Sculpt on.

Next up starting the mane, I had to keep reminding myself that this was a flame mane and did not need to be too detailed.

Update - 1/22/17
Not the update I was hoping for, did not get the day to work in the studio I planned for.  Instead stole and hour and finished the romance side of Ziggy's mane done.

1/28 - Well moving right along, Ziggy's non romance side mane is now done.  Up next for the zigmister is new ears and a forelock to go with his flaming awesome mane.

Sorry to have not updated, not sure where the time goes.  Anyhow forelock done, and mane first sanding.  I think maybe some neck work to in these photos.

Shes turning out good. I can't wait to see the finished result. :D I wish I could say the same for my own custom. I still have to work on the eyes and her symbol. ><:

Wow, seriously impressive!  I think your sculpt work is actually getting better, and it was already really amazing-

The shot with him looking down with the teeth is pretty intense! I really love your design sketch, he's gonna be gorgeous.

Such a pretty mane, as someone who can't sculpt hair or fur at all I can only sigh and admire.

I've only ever use baking soda and superglue to make repairs...you used that and tape a wire and a little sculpt to make this...it's a creation out of raw material and SPECTACULARLY DONE.

Really goes with the horse's serene expression, haha.

Can't wait to see it all done.

I learned it building remote control gliders with my physics teacher and use it for all sorts of plastic repairs where no other type of adhesive including epoxy will do.

It's exothermic.
