The ponies aren't actually destroyed to make the molds. Though I believe they must be hairless.
Part of baby bouncy' ear was missing and had bite marks all over her. She is not destroyed, and not one less. She still exists and we plan to rehair her. and

...just out of curiosity, how many sets do you guys currently have planned, and how many ponies per set do you foresee producing?

I'd rather see a rare G1 used for the project to make many new ones than see it customized into some random OOAK.
I do know that we are trying to make the customs more affordable in the future for everyone.. also poses are being modified.
