PC and info about this adorable girl MOC Baby Moondancer
« on: September 20, 2015, 09:07:41 AM »
Hi y'all  ^.^

I recently won this adorable baby girl on auction (yeeey I'm so happy and so in love with her!!) but I realise I don't know much about her. I believe she is european exclusive. But was she sold in all europe?
Also I'm so curious if I did well or not so I'd love to get a pricecheck on her as well  :lookround: any ideas are welcome!

On to a photo, MOC Baby Moondancer:

 I don't know a price but she's super amazing especially with her card in that great of condition for a pony you don't see MOC like this often.

Are the symbols painted or glitter?  If they are painted, she's rarer than glitter symbols, I believe, but either way, that style card is a UK/Europe thing?  the packing style is really what makes her special! :)

In the US, this gal came in a box, not a card. Lucky you! *w*

Oh now! I'm sure I've seen this sort of card before

I've seen some of the Germab babies MOC, but the card is different to this with German writing on.

I *think* it might be Scandinavian as they cards are in English, I could be wrong though.

Well I'm kind of hoping it is a scandinavian one. I live in Sweden so there is a good chance it is! :) But honestly I have no clue if it was sold in more countries.
I also know of the german ones and I agree the card is different.

I have this one on card also :) The painted ones seem to have had a more limited release than the glittery, but there are some differences between the cards of the glittery symbolled ones. I have Moondancer on the German card, but Glory on the Benelux. I have also seen the Danish carded versions of these and I don't think yours quite matches with any of them, so it's possible it is the Swedish card :) The German and the Danish have some of their own language text on, and the Benelux has small information text under the Baby Pony bit.

Here's an old picture of my three, which is two German and one Benelux

In Germany both glittery and painted were sold, which difference in the cards on the back. Is your back blank or does it have an image?

Beautiful ponies!!! :D

Can't see the details that good but all yours have text under baby Pony in the middle and mine hans't. Not sure what Benelux is? But yeah mine is all white and blank at the back!
I actually have a backcard that came with a baby glory also sold by a swedish seller and that looks identical to this one.

These are really interesting, with so many variations.

None of them were sold in the UK (We didn't have Baby Moondancer, Glory, Surprise or Firefly here at all, painted or glittery, carded or boxed) so the only moc ones I've seen in real life have been collectors' ones at ponycon. There are so many small packaging differences between regions which is interesting...

Benelux is a regional term for Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. Though I have to admit I don't know where Luxembourg fits in because all the packages I have from this region generally have labels for Belgium and Netherlands only...

Using Benelux there was mostly me being lazy and not wanting to type it out  I've always been under the impression that Luxemburg usually had the same as Holland, but could be wrong on that.

I  *think* mine has a Dutch price label, but I would have to double check on that. The white backed ones appear are the prevailing versions - the only ones that are different are the set with painted symbols from Germany/Austria which are fully illustrated.

This isn't the same set, and it might be different for the kind of set the babies belong to, with their unique packaging style, but this is the kind of label I was talking about. I'm miles from my ponies at the moment so this is the only image I have online:

I never saw one for Lux. though, so my curiosity is now piqued. Linguistically, wouldn't Belgium make more sense (with French?).

Going back to the babies, is there a general rule with these about the painted ones and germany? Where does Austria fit into this...did they just get the same as Germany? Because two of my painted symbol ones probably came from Austria, rather than Germany (Firefly and Glory)...and I remember there are differences that might relate to Austria/Germany releases with other sets.

I don't have a painted Baby Moondancer, so can't say anything more on her.
