Hi everyone !

I made this thread a bit later than I anticipated, but I hope it was worth the wait. =) I can't wait to see what you'll make. <3 I posted quite a few more ponies this time, I hope you will like that. ^^
Please, don't forget to post some feedback, I want to make these better ! :D

This one is about Space and everything related. I was thinking of August meteor showers when thinking of this theme and I think you might be inspired by this vast and fascinating theme. ^^ I've added the rule "You can use an alternative version of the selected pony of your liking." in case you prefer a variant of the selected pony. I didn't write small inspirations for each pony on this one, I really hope you don't mind. ^^'



Here are the guidelines :

- Every art is accepted !! Whether it's a traditional painting, digital drawing, a photograph or a sculpture, show us what you love making !
- Every level is accepted ! Just have fun, it's not a competition. =)
- There is no time limit, you can post your art whenever you want on this topic.
- You can make multiple pieces. The more we can look at, the better. ♥
- You drawing/picture has to include at least one of the selected ponies. You can add more characters (selected or no) or just a solo picture, everything is fine.
- The selected playset is just a fun option, you have no obligation to include it. =)
- You can use an alternative version of the selected pony of your liking. (Such as a Nirvana, a Mail Order, a baby version etc)
- Your drawing doesn't have to include a background if you don't want to.

You're 101% free to join ! The choice is yours, it's about what YOU love drawing. <3 I'm looking forward to see you draw these ponies. They are very pretty to me. I own one Italian Moondancer, but I have a soft spot for Nightglider and wish to find one someday. <3

I'm currently drawing one of the Fancy Swirl ponies on a Artist-Trading-Card. It won't be too elaborate, but I hope the result will look nice. ^^

Oh boy, a new thread!  And so many ponies this time!  How will I ever choose.  This reminds me that I still need to color my second one from the last thread...

Both of the submissions so far are cool - its so neat to see how different everyone's style is.  Things I would never even think of that others do so easily.  So, would even fancier TAF NightGlider be...Triple Fancy?  But the eyes, too...so maybe Quadruple Fancy???

Oh lovely job everyone!  Marshie, your Moondancer looks beautiful and I love how you did the sky.  And Rosepawpony, your pony is so squishy and lovable.

I actually drew this Moondancer last month. She was always the "powerful, do not cross ever" pony in my group.  Not really mean, just uninterested in other ponies unless it was important.

I love doing galaxy sky backgrounds in my watercolour work, so it will probably a traditional piece :3

I decided to do something a little bit different this time. I love astronomy, and ponies with a space theme. So I really wanted to blow this one out of the water. Rather than draw like I often do, I decided to up my game a bit. I've recently been learning a lot more about texturing in blender, so I wanted to do something with that. Originally I hoped to do the celestial swirl ponies, but found them a bit too difficult for my skill level. So, I chose to switch gears and try something a little simpler.
Star Hopper has been on my wish list for a while, so she was the next candidate in line. I drew up the texture for her body in FireAlpaca, and applied it to an Octavia model in Blender (credit to Mythicspeed on DA for the original model) and attached a horn from their starlight rig. Then applied the symbol which I also drew up in FireAlpaca. A bit of (read a week of) adjusting so everything would sit properly (thank the gods for UV mapping), and I am pleased to revel the final result:

I attempted to make her translucent like the toy with no success, but I am working on that. I'm still learning.
She is fully rigged and poseable like all other blender ponies. The downside is I haven't quite figured out how to get her horn to attach to the body. I move the head and the horn stays in one place, not moving. I'm hoping to fix that before I make the model available to the public. If you'd like to try it out, please be patient while I fix the errors. They will (hopefully) be fixed sooner rather than later. I will post when she is at a level of quality I am satisfied with sharing.

I took this art thread as a reason to draw something big, because I just couldn't decide which ponies to draw!! This kind of ended up as an alternate universe where celestial ponies are a thing and Star Flight is some kind of deity? Idk lol but I'm really happy w/ it! I adjusted the colors of a royalty-free space pic for the background :biggrin:

Mewtofan1 your 3D artwork looks so pretty ! I love it. It's nice to see Star Hopper that way. You did a really nice job. Unfortunately, I don't know how to help you with your Blender issues but I hope you'll figure this out.  :biggrin:

Fizzy Scrumptious, your artwork is breathtaking !! I love how colorful and majestic this all is. I almost wanted to cry of joy looking at it. May I use it a Wallpaper for my computer pleaaase ?  :blush:
