Ah, that is a really awesome lot, congrats lots of really nice ponies in it and they look in decent shape. Buttons has gone up in price a lot on ebay in the last few months I've noticed too

Nice! Good deal.  I'm curious about Mimic though, she's very pretty but why is she worth so much? Is she rare?

I'm not sure rare is the right word. Sought after is a better term. She wasn't sold everywhere but the fact she was sold across US and Canada means there are probably more of her than of some of the ponies unique to smaller countries. However because she was in that one TV special with the magic horseshoes, I guess she is popular, and also green ponies seem to be more expensive anyway. There was a theory that Hasbro put out more pink ponies than green ones but I don't think that's been borne out with ponies people have found still in original distribution cases.

Maybe it's more that parents bought pink ponies more for kids and so more of them sold, therefore more were sent over and packaged to replace them? Mimic, Bright Eyes and Quackers, the ponies not sold globally in that set, are probably also the most expensive. Tic Tac Toe, Locket and Speedy were global so maybe are less so (though I'm never 100% sure about TicTacToe).

I've had three or four Mimics pass through my hands in total and she was never sold here, so I generally don't think she's any rarer than any other pony in her set. One of the ones I had I even found here, which sort of confirms the rumour she did get sold in some parts of Europe (I have an Italian insert which pictures her).

nice lot!  That squishy Sundance, is she marked HK on her foot?  I know there's a Spanish/NC version of her that isn't super rare, but worth a little more at least here in the US.
