It's only taken me 17 years >.>
Thanks to the awesome Ickykitana and the weird world of Ebay, I now finally have a full set of German Rainbow Ponies (Regenbogen-Ponys).
I absolutely adore this set. I think it might be part because I had a Rainbow Pony as my first pony, and the fact that the UK were stiffed out on Rainbow Ponies in general, but they're really some of the most beautiful early European ponies. My love affair with them began when I found Himmelstanzer at a carboot sale 17 years ago and wondered what the heck she was, and finally, this week, I got Mondschein to complete the set.
So, united at last, my set :D (ignore the wall socket, had to find a good place for a picture xD). Nachtlicht, Hummelchen, Mondschein on the back and Regentropfen, Sternenglanz and Himmelstanzer on the front.
I do often wonder what insert Hummelchen has inside that card bubble of hers...

Oh wow, they're gorgeous! Congratulations! That must be an amazing feeling. :)
How hard was it to obtain Nachtlicht? I know so little about this pony other than there's two(?) versions. ^.^ Such a pretty blue!

I am really bad at judging how htf some ponies are because many of them I got a long time ago and things have changed a huge amount in terms of that kind of thing. Mine came from Austria along with Regentropfen through a trade about 15 years ago, and both have the smaller symbols - the larger symbol ones I think are more common in Germany but I don't know for sure and I don't know how that affects rarity either.
As for how common - I haven't seen many of them on ebay lately. Someone else can probably advise better though >< I'm a bit clueless on current availability.

That is some brag congrats on all those lovely ponies. I always liked your website by the way. I found it very useful like Summer's books. :)

Thank you everyone :) and Sky Cakes, thank you for the kind words about my site !
Ironically Mondschein has been the most difficult one to track down. Maybe because she slips beneath the radar ?

It is quite a fun word to say xD. Though I'm sure that any native speakers of German would have a good laugh at me if they heard me try ;)

Congratulations!! Love seeing photos of your gorgeous collection. What a set to complete! :hearts: (And those names are SO fun to say. As someone who's never taken a German lesson in their life, hehe)

I do often wonder what insert Hummelchen has inside that card bubble of hers...
Awesome set! Yeah, I wonder what insert she has. Her card looks like the later-year My Little Pony logo. Congrats on completing the set! I've never seen them all together before.

I think these were 1987, because I have a pony comic fron Germany and an advertising booklet from around that time that shows them. I can't really see what Hummelchen's insert is but it doesn't look the same as the ones I have. Maybe a German collector would know.
The card style is kinda like how pony cards became in about 88 here, with the thin border around the edge, although most of the cards I have in this style or have seen are orange bordered. I think that also goes for the 1987 German and French TE sets, though the UK card I have for TicTacToe is different...
Curious stuff.
