Hey yall; its lovely to be back after a very long break!

I said a while back when id uploaded pictured of my sealed g2 display id show you this one!

(Link here  http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,396218.msg1782590.html#lastPost )

I got it from the same seller as previous; sadly its huge outer box was very damaged but the contents inside were still there and in great shape!

I believe it is from around 2004-2005!

Here are some pics!

Pony Corral / G3 plasticiser leakage :(
« on: November 07, 2019, 11:15:10 AM »
Hi all. Ive got 2 g3 ponies ive had since 2017 in a lot and they are now both in the process of plasticiser leakage.  :(

My one pony Golden Delicious was already sticky when i got her. I knew she was leaking since i washed her and still sticky she was! Her head came off like it was nothing and we all know the pain of g3 head glue. Of course i seized the opportunity to replace the tail washer and i got covered in a thick goop of plasticiser inside her body! Even now shes still going through it!

I was moving cinnamon breeze recently who came in the same lot; and felt a very slight stickiness; so i tried pulling on her head; it came off with ease! Shes slightly tacky on the inside so now im wondering if i should quarantine anu ponies i got from that lot in general?

Has anyone got any g3s with plasticiser leakage? :(

Pony Corral / Create your own g5 mane 6 :)
« on: November 02, 2019, 03:35:19 AM »
Lets say you could pick any ponies from any gen to be the 'mane 6' for the new generation of mlp; who would you choose?

Im very interested in yalls responses :)

Yes please!! I'd love to see it! :D

Ill make sure to take some pictures when i can; should i post it on this thread or a new thread?  :) :)

The only downfall to it is the size; the box is massive! But other than that its nice to see that even the most obscure things survive! Would anyone want me to post the g3 mcdonalds display ive also got?  :)

I have some McD G2 leaflets from this time/release, I can try and check on the dates of them. I remember the display in McD and had the toys from happymeals then I think...but that's really cool merch. I've never seen anyone else obtain one of those and especially not in that condition.

Edit -I guess 1998, as the leaflet I have advertises a competition with closing date 31st Dec 1998. G2 arrived here officially in 1998 so that makes sense.

It surprised me how it was just on ebay; in such good condition. I didnt bother to ask how they got a hold of this in the condition its in but they had loads!

On the box it says 1998; so im guessing youre right :)

I wouldnt even know how to value this? Is there a big market for display units like this?

This is all of the contents inside of the box; there is the main cardboard display; the set pieces in a sealed bag; a certificate of quality control and authenticity and the large rectangular box which contains both sets of toys sealed in thier bags!

This certificate is probably just for a legal requirement i guess but its cool to have!

This is the main cardboard display as i can tell; it has small holes and slot points for the set pieces to be put in place when displayed; it is flat packed and definitely looks as if it has never been assembled!

This sealed bag contains all of the cardboard set pieces that complete the display; it even has a booklet inside for assembley and construction; with pictures showing the display complete in the UK and French versions of the set! On the exterior box the version i have says UK so there may be a completed set on the french market!

This is the box that contains both sets of 4 of the toys; one set at each end; its easy to open with a cardboard latch thats simple to open and pull out the sets!

And these are the two sets of toys; mint in bag; and what most children see when they stare at the stores display!

Does anybody of any other sealed and bagged Mcdonalds displays? Ive seen constructed ones; but not sealed like this. I also have a G3 UK set also sealed if anybody wants to see!

If you wish to share this around you are happy to do so; i hope you have a great day!

Rodney :)

To be honest i think that its great the ponies are being recreated. They arent hurting anything other than peoples wallets (which is their choice haha!) So really its a case of if you dont like it dont buy it. If its bringing people joy theres no "overkilling it". In like 30 years most people will be flocking to collect them since theyre vintage im guessing. :)

Pony Corral / Re: Who was your first pony?
« on: July 11, 2019, 11:21:02 AM »
I remember getting my first ponies in the store. I got windy and applejack! I am 100% sure my first girl that i picked up was windy; because i originally thought her symbol was waves and not wind  (this was until i looked at her name after i left the store). I also recall them wearing their ribbons over their necks because i loved daphne from scooby doos scarf and of course i wanted them to be as amazing as daphne :P

Pony Corral / G3 Pinkie Pie/Rainbowdash Hybrid Plush
« on: July 01, 2019, 07:12:53 AM »
Today I found this plush in a charity shop in the UK; its a pinkie pie plush that has a hasbro tag and everything; but her symbol is obviously rainbowdashes from g3! Is this a defect or a well known plush?

Pony Corral / Re: 35 Anniversary Collectors ponies - Thread 3!
« on: June 29, 2019, 08:53:12 AM »
The problem with Peachy's parlor-

1.  Kinda big-
2.  Not that special (you can get the ORIGINAL Pretty Parlor from 1983- complete with vintage Peachy, and most if not all accessories- for the same price as the new one)  (there is in fact, a 100% complete one for sale right now for $17.99 on ebay)
3.  People who are buying the ponies individually for "nostalgia value" might be more easily swayed to add a pony or two to their cart -  but a playset?  The box is pretty big- it is easy to stuff a pony into a little niche or hand it off to a kid- but a big ole playset? Maybe not
4.  Pony collectors aren't really buying the sets either because PEACHY. So dang common.

I mean, I was happy to get mine, but the $20 price tag was a bit offputting for Peachy-  plus the space thing.

Over here its shelf price is around £25 which is near enough what, $30? $32? And I imagine it's worse in Europe.

I don't know how well it is selling here as I only started seeing it recently on shelves here. The parlour is pretty common here though and all the things you said are pretty true in these parts as well. Peachy is very very common in the UK. It's not a selling point for me to rerelease the most common pony as a retro :/

Could you imagine if the 35th anniversary peachy becomes rarer than the original peachy since its not selling :)
