Let's talk - Rainbow Brite -

So beacuse of hallmark I am getting back into rainbow brite.
Not that I ever really stoped collecting it since 2012.
I am un sure of the many rainbow brite dolls and thair information
Other then what rainbowbrite.net youtube video about all the big dolls
I am looking for her

But I am unsure about how tall she is? I can't seem to track one down
However my mess up was that I bought the talking one thinking it was this one Oh well lol! I still love the talking one! I can't waite untill I get her!
So any info on the picture rainbow brite would help!

The reason I am going after the 2004 dolls is beacuse I just saw in person
The rainbow brite doll2015 and I think she looks like a baby and I just
Don't understand why she looks so baby-ish not my cup of tea.
So I will catch the 2004 dolls as they are so much better.

I do recall watching rainbow brite as a very little kid.
And my brother loved the movie. But my
Parents where not very willing to let us watch cartoons
That where fantasy and magical so we threw out a lot
Of classic cartoons. Bummer I guess that's why I persue toy
Collecting now I have very few memories from year 2 to 5
Watchig strawberry shortcake, Care Bears, My little pony
Ect..

The prototype for the new Rainbow Brite looks horrible- but they made some improvements for the post production doll, so the IRL doll is much cuter.

I guess it depends on what you like personally, I don't belive that I want the doll but I am still on edge about it.

This one is a bit more spot on but bland I think.
They remind me of polly pockets from 2002.

Moral of the story
The first rainbow brite was so grate that it puts
All reboots to shame.
Don't mess with a good thing.
If it's not broken don't fix it.

I actually kinda liked what I saw of the 2015 one. It felt as true to the original as FIM feels to the G1 MLP cartoon. It is at least recognizable as Rainbow Brite. The slow gentle pace of most 80s cartoons wouldn't work today. I just wish they made dolls based on the new cartoon. The retro stuff is cute and all but I wanted cute little mini dolls.

The 2010 version had potential. I liked the designs themselves but the animation was awful.

Yeah- the 2010 "animation" (if you can call it that) was shockingly bad.  The newer one was much cuter.  I will admit I was hoping for little figures too...

But I do like the retro looking toys- I think they are surprisingly cute. Especially Twink who I actually think is an improvement on vintage Twink!  I haven't brought myself to buy the new RBB yet or Starlite since I have so many other editions and they don't really add anything, but I'll probably cave at some point.

Quit with the reboots!  The itty bittys are cute but I'm old school.. leave the classics alone. Or at least make them just as good as the original!

I loved Rainbow Brite as a kid, though I loved MLP, She Ra and Care Bears more I remember watching the cartoon every morning getting ready for school.. but it was in Spanish!  I didn't understand it but I liked watching it anyway! Most of my RB collection got ruined by mildew.. The only toys I have left from childhood are the big yellow girl Sprite (forgot her name) and big Romeo. I recently bought a minty (ha) regular sized Patty with her sprite. She needs a good wash in the washing machine...
