Pony Corral / Re: Pony Conditions
« on: November 13, 2021, 11:59:58 AM »
Since a lot of people have viewed this and nobody has responded, maybe my post was confusing. I can't remember the condition names other than Mint, Bait, and MOC/NIB.

What are the steps between bait and mint?

Pony Corral / Pony Conditions

Hi! It's been quite a few years since I was actively buying. Can someone please give me a list of pony conditions? I'm working on my list for the insurance company after our house fire. Thanks. :)

Thank you, everyone. It's a terrible thing to go through. We lost multiple collections, which is not as terrible as the overall loss, but it adds to the stress. Inventorying our collections has been difficult so I wanted to help others be as prepared as possible. I'm so glad to hear that some of you have already taken steps!

Pony Corral / Do you have a pony inventory list?
« on: October 05, 2021, 02:22:58 PM »
Hi everyone. A lot of you may not recognize me - I haven't been around much in the last few years, but I used to be incredibly active here. Anyway, I have an important question for all of you: Do you have a pony inventory list? If you don't, I highly recommend you take the time to make one and back it up to a cloud service.

We lost our home in a house fire last month. I lost over 600 ponies, most of which were G1 and early G3. I also lost my desktop computer and external hard drives. I have one small hard drive left, and I'm hoping I had my inventory list on it. If you didn't know, after a fire you have to inventory every item in your home, in as much detail as possible, for your insurance. It's incredibly daunting and there's no way to make sure you list everything. Unfortunately my collection was in a part of the house that was a total loss. There's nothing left to go off of except my memory, unless I can find that list. And for the record, even areas that don't burn can be a total loss due to heat and smoke damage, so don't rely on hard drives alone!

So please, please, inventory your collection!! Update it often. Be detailed (pony name, condition, price paid, etc). I used to have my collection inventoried in the PonyDex (does anyone here even remember that??). That site no longer exists, so I wouldn't rely on a website unless you host it yourself. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has experienced this type of loss, but I hope I'm the last. Hope you're all doing well.

Pony Corral / Re: Looking for Website: List of Ponies by Release

Yes, Dream Valley is it!! Thank you - no wonder Google wasn't helping. I'm sad to see that DV is gone, I spent a lot of time on there when I was building my collection. I'll check out the new site. Thanks again. :)

Pony Corral / Looking for Website: List of Ponies by Release
« on: December 27, 2020, 12:54:49 PM »
Hi!! A lot of you may not remember me, but I used to be super active in the community years ago. It's been a long time, but my ponies just came out of storage and I'm going through everything again. There used to be a website I used to referenced for pony information - I think for just G1 & G2, but there may have been some G3 on there as well. It had ponies listed by release date, they were grouped by set and had descriptions of each pony. Does this sound familiar to anyone? If not, is there a similar website that anyone knows of? I want to make a spreadsheet of all my ponies but it's been so long that I don't know a lot of this information off the top of my head anymore. Thanks in advance!

I just wanted to say thank you for asking this question - I came here to ask pretty much the same thing! Good luck with your sales. :)

Pony Corral / Re: Anybody see the latest episode of Storage Wars?
« on: November 19, 2014, 12:43:00 AM »
I couldn't believe there were finally ponies on one of these shows!! I was laughing the whole time, telling my husband how wrong that Brony was. I'm just so glad it wasn't G1s... I was sitting there terrified a Rapunzel or something was going to come out of that box! I hope those ponies made it to a good home. :)

Also, I haven't been around in ages, but as soon as I watched this episode I felt like this was the only place to come and be with others who completely understand.

:D Seeing you back really made me happy, TSU! I also find such joy in your name, lol. But I remember seeing you around so much a couple years ago and always enjoyed interacting with you. I'm glad you'll be around again.
It's nice to see some older members popping in here! Feels like the "good ole days," lol.

Off Topic / Re: Anybody jailbroken/unlocked their smart phone?
« on: March 15, 2013, 11:35:19 PM »
When I had an Android-based phone, I did root it. I loved how custom everything could be, but it did glitch on me a bit. Now I have an iPhone 4s, which is jailbroken. I'm really happy with it. And yes, it voids your warranty, if they know about it. Just un-jailbreak if you really need to take it in. I'm not familiar with the capabilities of the older phones, though, so I'm not sure what a jailbreak would do for you.

Trader & Shipping Support / Shipping Rate Question
« on: February 13, 2013, 07:37:14 PM »
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm making my first real "For Sale" thread and I want to be sure I'm quoting shipping properly.
If I ship Priority Mail, it doesn't matter the weight of the item? Is that correct? So say a medium sized bubble envelope with one doll in it would be $6.95, and a large bubbles envelope with 2-3 dolls in it would also be $6.95. Or have I completely misunderstood the USPS website and the Shipping thread stickied at the top?
Also, would it be better to use the Priority Mail boxes and envelopes I see in the Post Office? I've heard they are free - is that right?
I really appreciate any help with this. My postal workers are very patient but also very busy and I don't want to go in there and hold up the lines trying to understand this.

I've been meaning to start a thread like this!  I'm glad someone else actually got around to it.

As you probably guessed, Kelly is my real name.  I'm from St. Louis county (St. Charles county, actually, but more people know where St. Louis is), and I currently live in Oregon.  I'm halfway through my master's in communications and wrapping up a great temp job in public affairs with the Forest Service.  I'm going on 36, and I've been collecting ponies since the beginning.  My first was Peachy and the Parlor (for Christmas when I was 6), followed by Blossom.  Ponies will always be my main love and collecting obsession, but I've recently branched out into other 80's toys as well.

Between work, school, and ponyhunting, I haven't had much time to do anything else lately, but I hope to regain some much-needed balance in my life soon when my current job ends (though of course I hope to get another one in the reasonably near future).  When I have time, I enjoy things like hiking and reading.  I can draw reasonably well, and I actually hope to launch a T-shirt line based around some characters I created soon (when I get time to finish a few more designs).  I used to be pretty into taekwondo before life got crazy and I fell off the wagon, but I hope to take that up again soon too.  I also used to ride horses and hope to get back into that one day too when I have the money for it (it might help if I didn't buy so many plastic equines).

I'm nuts about animals of all sorts.  I currently have 7 cats and 3 sugar gliders (the gliders have their own room), but I've had many others in the past.  I was a vet tech for five years, so I try to offer good advice whenever I see someone post a question about pet care.  I'd love to be trained as a wildlife rehabilitator someday (again, when I get time).  And I love my public affairs job with the Forest Service and hope to make a career out of it, but if I could do anything in my wildest dreams, it would be to host wildlife documentaries and start a nonprofit to raise money for conservation.

Woot! Another Oregon girl! :D Lovely Crater Lake picture. I'll have to look around and see if I can find any recent pics to add to this thread.
