I totally see where you're coming from with the color variation... but the thing is... the difference in light truly does matter!

loginWhen a photo is taken under tungsten light, like the left photo, it has a more yellowy/orangey cast...
When a photo is taken under a florescent light, like the right photo, it has a green cast...
You can see she looks much bluer (cooler) in the second photo while in the first photo she looks more warm and purpley...
Also, in this last picture, you can see just what front lighting does to something like a pony... see how washed out the color is but she's a heck of a lot closer to her natural color because the light is a white light... it doesn't give off a color cast.
