Title: Happy Australia Day!
Post by: Stormness_1 on January 25, 2017, 02:12:36 PM
Happy Australia Day, my Aussie Pony peeps!

How do you celebrate? We're going the classic route and having a BBQ. Snags and lamb, of course!

My dads Australian, and so we celebrate it when Australia does, as opposed to our own time. Just grbbing barbecue food like hotdogs, steak and throwing 'me on. If it's not too cold that is... and talking to our relatives! And them bragging about how warm it is there.

Happy Australia Day!
My boyfriend and I are going to a BBQ at his mate's place, this will be the first time I meet more of his friends (minus the host who I have met once). We're all in our twenties so beyond the BBQ and drinks it'll be less traditional with some WiiU Smash Brothers lol.

We had a bbq at New Farm Park- beautiful :)  A group of Iranian refugees from our church cooked the snags!  they have amazing food.  I had to leave early, but everyone else played cricket (hopefully the ball didn't go in the river this year!)   Was such a beautiful day for it too.

It really was a great day in Brissie today, and New Farm park is a beautiful spot for it! We had ours at home, I like being close to the air conditioning as I overheat pretty quickly with my pregnancy, and better safe than sorry! I did get to sit outside in the garden though, there was a gorgeous breeze coming through, so I really enjoyed it, although one of our dogs decided it was too hot even with the promise of bones, and went back inside!

I love celebrating with newer Australians, and showing them our culture.. My FIL's wife is Sri Lankan, and we went to her citizenship ceremony a few years back now, it was a really great day. We're always playing at being tour guides whenever her family comes to visit, it's so much fun!
