Childhood pony ID help
« on: May 27, 2012, 06:46:21 PM »
Recently I've been trying to ID a pony I used to have when I was a kid. It was a G1, tall (well I thought it was tall), all-white pony with a white mane and tail. I'm not sure if it had tinsel in its hair, and I don't remember its symbol... I know of the pony bride, but I don't think that's her.

Yesterday I randomly found out that the Argentinian version of Truly looks kind of like her! Can anyone tell me if "Novia" is matte or pearlized? In the pictures she looks kind of shiny. Although I kind of doubt a Nirvana would have fallen into a ten-year-old's hands in a small Canadian town, there's always a chance?

Are there any other variants that are all-white?

Thanks for the help!

Presuming your pony isn't Princess Tiffany, as Relcelestia has suggested, I second her suggestion that your pony may have had the notorious 'Fading pink' hair and it turned to white, in which case your pony could have also been a version of Sundance.

Edit: Also, there are two white bridal ponies, Pony Bride and Bridal Beauty. Pony Bride looks very much like 'Novia' (She has a lavender dove symbol) where Bridal Beauty's symbol is a pink heart. So, you may have seen one and not the other?

Ooh, I think it's probably the non-pearly Novia then! Any idea how much she costs these days?

I know it's not any of the others you posted, but thank you so much for posting them!! I really like the all-whites. I might have to start a new collection :)

Arghhhh I knew she would be expensive (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ

But no, nobody I know has been to South America. I got the ponies from a neighbour kid in any case... no clue how she would have gotten hold of that! Worse, I don't have any of those ponies anymore...

Hmm, maybe it IS the pony bride then... I just don't remember her looking so odd in the face. But then again, it was a long time ago.

I have heard of cases of South American ponies turning up in odd places before...you never know who worked where or went where on holiday or had relatives in which country I suppose! It would be pretty impressive though!

I do think your description sounds like pony bride or bridal beauty...they always come across as "tall" ponies...

Hope you manage to work it out!

Going with the fading pink hair idea - perhaps a faded Sweet Sundrop?   The Sweetheart Sisters always seem tall to me and their heads don't look as odd as the bridal ponies.

As hathorcat said, it's not impossible for it to have been Novia even if the other options are more likely.

Hope you figure it out!
