I was just browsing Google for pony pictures when this turned up. I remember this leaflet very clearly from when I was a child, but I never noticed before... Did they swap the heads of Mummy and Daddy Meadowsweet?

OMG. I have looked at that image a million times. I now need to demolish my shelf and get my leaflets out.

Or I would if it didn't mean killing my poinsettia...

From that image, it sure looks possible, but it's really hard to see...

I remembered that I had a duplicate copy of that insert in my trade box and you're absolutely right. I can't believe I never saw that. Really good spot!

Yep, I have noticed that too, but that's not the only error in that photo. They have also swapped the manes of Baby Meadowsweet and Baby Berrytown. And the colors of Baby Sunbright's body marking are reverse to the produced toy.

They absolutely have as well. I feel like we ought to be doing a spot the mistake contest on this image.
The different pose for Baby Berrytown is adorable and I wish she had been like that, but to me that's kind of normal prototype stuff. You often see them in different poses, it happens with baby Katie on that pamphlet as well, and Billie is a total other colour)

But swapping the hair tones ONLY in the manes, and the heads (!?) which ought to match poses is just nuts. Someone was in a hurry to put that photo display together...or the head making section weren't talking to the body making section.  (It reminds me of left twix and right twix, but I guess that analogy would only make sense to UK people who saw those stupid adverts).

I feel like the reason I didn't notice the head and hair swaps is that when you see the image and the pamphlet so much you just kind of don't see things any more. Absolute kudos to you guys for paying such great attention!

That is too funny! I wonder if the prototype just had the wrong head or if the photographer messed up their heads when they were styling them for the shoot.

LOL we had the twix ad years ago! I soo get it! It is weird how many mistakes are in that one photo! Maybe the protos are the hard casts (they do look shiny) I'm not sure how they assemble hard casts, but it's probably just the heads sitting there on a stick sitting in the neck hole, they wouldn't be full casts or have proper plugs. The hair mix-up is super strange though!
