Where do I begin?  I grew up on The Sound of Music, The King and I, Cinderella (Leslie Ann Warren version) and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  I love a LOT of musicals.  Here's a (maybe not so brief) list-in no particular order:

Rent
Hairspray
Cats
Chicago
Wicked
In the Heights
Shrek the Musical
Annie (original movie/broadway version music is better than new movie version)
Into the Woods (prefer movie version w/Bernadette Peters over Disney version)
Little Shop of Horrors
Once Upon a Mattress
The Producers
Grease
The Phantom of the Opera
The Frogs
My Fair Lady
Mamma Mia
Les Miserables
The Music Man
1776
Newsies
Bye Bye Birdie
Spamalot
Seussical the Musical
The Utter Glory of Morrissey Hall (this one lasted one night on Broadway but we performed it my last year of college, which is how I heard about it.)
Hans Christian Anderson (starring Danny Kaye)
The Court Jester (w/Danny Kaye)
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (w/Bing Crosby)

And can I add Connie and Carla even though it's not technically a musical?  It's about two women who witness a mob killing so they hide out in LA as drag queens who perform show tunes in a gay bar.  It's fabulous.

I know there are more but I can't think of them right now.

I'm a big theatre/musicals fan, but I'll try to make this brief:

Newsies
She Loves Me
Hamiliton
Jane Eyre
The Scarlet Pimpernel
The Secret Garden
Into the Woods
Curtains
Sunday in the Park With George
Wicked

There's a lot more, I'm sure, but that's all I can think of right now.  :)

I'm a traditional, my favorites are Rocky Horror Show, Dance of the Vampires (Tanz der Vampire), and most of all Elisabeth (about the Austrian empress better known as Sisi).

Grease is fun, too!

Tanz der Vampire is my all-time favourite musical!
I also like Phantom of the Opera, Elisabeth, Rocky Horror Show, and an amazing Czech musical version of Dracula written by Karel Svoboda which no one else ever seems to have heard of.
In contrast to my love of pretty pastel ponies, I like my musicals dark and dramatic. I also believe that all the best singers and actors are to be found in Europe, specifically Germany and Hungary. Love my German and Hungarian musical actors <3

I quite agree, though let's not forget the Dutch. They're also great.

I'm a big musical fan, and I love singing along to pretty much all parts (and sometimes act them out, too, which is super-funny to watch for anyone who happens to be nearby).

Musicals I've seen on stage:

Phantom of the Opera (for years and year, my biggest musical love - I've seen it in London, Las Vegas and Hamburg)
Les Misérables (London and Sacramento)
Beauty and the Beast (London)
Avenue Q (my absolute favourite when I'm down and need some cheering up - London)
Rebecca (Stuttgart)
Elisabeth (Munich)
Mary Poppins (Vienna)

Musicals I haven't seen, but would love to:

Tanz der Vampire
Jane Eyre (How come this musical isn't better-known? I love it)
Wicked (despite living in London for years - I really need to get round to it)
The Lion King (ditto)
Sweeney Todd
Fiddler on the Roof (I've only seen amateur productions)
Little Shop of Horrors (ditto - this was my first love, musical-wise, and I'm still ever so fond of it)

*waves* to fellow Jane Eyre fan.  :)  It's a lovely musical, isn't it?  One of my ultimate favorites.

I was lucky enough to see this musical twice, once on Broadway and once in Palo Alto (Theatreworks).  The music is beautiful and the set design in New York was lovely.

I forgot to add Light in the Piazza to my list.  One of my favorites. So pretty.  :)

I love musicals! I haven't seen any newer ones lately, but growing up, my mom was always watching them with us - we saw On the Town enough times that as a toddler, I genuinely thought my dad's dress whites were a dancing uniform, like when he had to put them on for something, I thought he was getting ready to go out dancing.   :drunk:

Anyway, some of my favorites are Fiddler on the Roof, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Newsies, and Annie Get Your Gun. I'm glad that more musicals are being made again these days for film, but I wish I was able to go see live productions more often - the last professional production I saw was Spamalot, and that was ages ago! I did see a cute community college production of The Wedding Singer last year, though, lol

For the Newsies fans, do you guys know that they taped a production with Jeremy Jordan (original Jack Kelly) to be shown in movie theaters in January?

http://www.playbill.com/article/newsies-will-be-filmed-with-jeremy-jordan-and-kara-lindsay

I've seen a few of the stage musicals in movie theaters (Les Miserables, Rent) as well as Livestreams (Daddy Long Legs, She Loves Me) and they are usually a lot of fun.  I'm super excited to see Newsies.  :)

I'm actually usually not a big fan of musicals, but there are a few I rather love.

West Side Story. The songs are so dang catchy. But of course, my favorite thing about it is that one of the actors I follow the work of is in the film version....

The Phantom of the Opera

The Sound of Music

Fiddler on the Roof

The Student Prince (another darling is in this one, heh ... the dark-haired fellow in my signature)

The Desert Song (1953 movie version; I honestly am not that crazy about the stage play version, I have to admit ...)

I remember also liking New Moon, although not as much as The Desert Song

Rose-Marie (movie, the one with Jimmy Stewart. The stage play/other movie sound nice too, but I haven't had any contact with them)

I kind of like The Toast of New Orleans, but I also kind of have some issues with it. It doesn't make me rage like Kiss Me, Kate does, though.

Bugsy Malone. Scott Baio's acting debut, yay! I wish they'd let the kids sing instead of dubbing them over, though.

And if we're talking about animated musicals, as a couple of people have mentioned, then that's a whole other category.

All Equestria Girls movies, but especially the first three.

All Dogs Go to Heaven, the first one and the Christmas one. I have tried to like the second one, but while I like some of the songs, I just don't like the film.

I absolutely adore Gay Purr-ee! Glad to see someone else does too. :)

Cats Don't Dance is also really good. And it made me a firm Natalie Cole fan.

I tend to like most Disney films with multiple songs, but let's narrow it down to Oliver & Company, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Lion King, and Pocahontas (okay, it's totally historically inaccurate, but I like to just view it as a touching fiction film and then it's fine for me).
