MLP Nirvana / PC on French Applejack
« on: April 07, 2017, 07:30:21 AM »
I found a French Applejack at my local kids consignment store!  I don't collect anymore, so I will be selling her, but I'm not sure of her current value. She's quite lovely, just a few minor marks.  Any help on price would be appreciated!  Thank you!

Price Check Archives / PC on G1 merch/playsets
« on: June 11, 2016, 05:25:00 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm getting the remainder of my collection ready to sell at the Fair!  Would love your pricing opinions on the following:

-G1 sleeping bag, some minor fading/wearing, design has Paradise Estate, Flutter Ponies, Megan and Sundance, etc.

-Rock-a-Bye bed in Spanish box.  The box is pretty beat up, but the playset is still in its original plastic bags inside.

-Lullabye nursery, good condition, has the following accessories: Baby Tiddlywinks, yellow rattle, purple rattle, blue trim bottle, yellow trim bottle, baby powder (no sticker), pink necklace, pink teddy bear brush, 2 wooden blocks, white cradle, pink swing, pink canopy, 1 diaper box, 2 diapers, pink mobile, pink bowl, pink bath, pink mirror, blue shelf, blue dresser, pull duck, pink spoon

Thanks for your help!

Price Check Archives / PC MIB Perfume Puff Palace - Spanish
« on: June 24, 2015, 10:29:19 AM »
Getting everything ready to sell at the Fair!  I have a MIB Perfume Puff Palace; it is the Spanish version (box is in Spanish and says it was made in Valencia, Spain).  The box has some wear; I'd call it overall very good condition.  While the box itself has been opened, everything inside is still sealed in its original packaging.  How much should I ask for it?  Thanks in advance!

Price Check Archives / PC - Paradise Estate
« on: May 24, 2015, 11:50:33 AM »
I'm planning on taking my Paradise Estate to the MLP Fair to sell (so hopefully shipping costs can be avoided).  I'm wondering how to price it, as I'm not sure which accessories really up its value and which don't.  It's a complete shell w/ pool and patio.  The accessories included are:

Floor lamp
Bed
Stereo
TV
Coffee Table (stickers peeled off)
Armchair
Sofa
1 complete swivel chair
1 swivel chair with no base
Fridge
Sink/cupboards
2 Seapony statues
2 patio chairs
Patio table with umbrella (missing heart topper)
1 complete lantern
1 lantern missing top
Vanity
Most of the flowers

Thanks in advance for your help!  :)

Out of curiosity, did the bubble become unsealed at all when it was crushed?  If so, this may have caused the yellowing.  I once had a MOC that came to me intact, and then I made a mistake and cracked the bubble (you can imagine how I felt about that!!).  After it cracked, the bubble yellowed (although I don't remember how long it took for that to happen).  I don't know if it has to do with being exposed to air from the outside or what, but it did happen to me.  Just a possibility.  Or, it is certainly possible the seller used a photo of someone else's MOC, which is a whole other can of worms.  What a crappy situation :(

Hmmm.  Not too long ago I had a new member here message me quite a bit trying to haggle with me on a couple G1 babies.  They weren't really expensive but she was definitely trying to lowball.  When I asked for her location for a shipping quote she said US, but when I checked out her posts on here (which I did because she was new and had no feedback), she stated she was from Singapore.  I found that very odd, but I do know some international buyers have friends in the US who will ship all their small purchases in one large shipment to save on shipping.  I finally agreed to a fairly low price, but then she wanted super detailed descriptions and backed out because they weren't NM (in which case the price we agreed to would have been a steal).  All in all she gave me a really weird vibe and I was relieved when she backed out.  I am wondering if this is the same buyer.

Pony Corral / Re: If you've sold your collection
« on: December 20, 2014, 03:15:29 PM »
I've been here selling off my entire collection (600+ ponies plus tons of merchandise) for a couple of months...a lot comes down to how busy you want to be.  I already had everything packed in bins, so I just started photographing and listing them here a bin at a time.  Soon, I had hundreds up at once.  But, I was willing to be busy with it.  It meant constantly answering PM's, doing shipping quotes, and many, many trips to the post office (especially because I'm kind of neurotic and try do same or next day shipping).  So, my advice would be, only list as many as you are willing to deal with.  Even since coming back on here to sell, I have seen a couple other members who listed more than they could deal with, and they got pretty overwhelmed and fell behind.

As to what to list first, depends on your reasons for selling.  If you're selling for the money, list the most expensive ones first.  If you're simply downsizing, start with the ones you're least attached to.  Best of luck! :)

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Any Problems With HoustonCollector72?
« on: December 11, 2014, 06:29:49 AM »
I'll just chime in here and say I've sold to HoustonCollector72 more than once without any problems at all (MOC/MIB G2's and G3's).  Paid fast, good communication, left feedback quickly.  Based on my experiences, I'd be absolutely shocked if he had done anything wrong in this case.  It sounds like a PO or customs problem to me.

I would wait until you clarify exactly what the problem is in customs before contacting the seller.  But, to be honest, the fact that she took 3 weeks to ship (with no communication on top of that) is completely unacceptable.

As a seller if I made that kind of error with the customs form I would be reimbursing you for the fees you will be charged - if I made a mistake, I should have to pay for it.  It is pretty surprising if there really was no customs form; USPS does not allow this.  If you print a shipping label online it automatically makes you fill one out, and if you go to the counter at the post office the clerks will make you fill one out (I've never not had one tell me to fill it out).  I'm surprised it slipped by and got all the way to Germany.  In any event, I don't think you should be responsible for the fees.  Just my two cents.

I have several G2 playsets I'm looking to sell.  All of them are mint with box - they've been opened but include all ponies and accessories.  They are:

-Canopy Bed with Lightheart

-Royal Castle Ballroom with Princess Morning Glory

-Sweetberry's Magic Kitchen

-Pony Garden Playcase (box a little faded)

-Magic Rainbow Forest with Sunsparkle

Thanks in advance!  :)

She may have printed a First Class International shipping label online, which always gives a tracking number but is only guaranteed to track within the US (save for a select few countries).  The USPS won't guarantee that other countries will scan the barcode.  Even if the package is tracked, if it is First Class International, it does not include insurance.  They make you go with Priority International if you want insurance, and Priority is ridiculously expensive.  If a First Class package is lost, too bad, so sad, according to the USPS.  Their website will not accept online inquiries for First Class International tracking numbers, and they explicitly state on their website that their call center will not accept inquiries from those tracking numbers, either.  That being said, I have had a First Class International package take a full 4 weeks to arrive.  I think others here have had things take as long as 6 weeks.  So it is possible that it may arrive yet.
