Ribbons...thoughts.

My collection has been in storage for about 4 years....now that I am back on land they get to be freed!!!! A few of them have ribbons with them. Not 100% sure if they are real or fake. Did some research last night and getting original ribbons will be last on my want list. 

Does anyone have a list of colors? Who they go with? Any suggestions on the proper brand. Focus is G1 but my goal is to ribbon my ponies even if they never came with one.

Oh and what is a tell sign you have an original MLP Ribbon?

You know those little ribbon loops on the inside of most women's shirts? To keep them from slipping down the hanger?

Yeah, those are actually for your ponies. I know it's far from the original, but I always cut them out anyway because they make me itch, and they have the perfect length (although not the perfect width) for pony tail ribbons.

Couldn't tell you about originals. Been way to long. But mylittlewiki can help you with some colors.

Original ribbons are a matte color rather than the shinier color of most of the newer ribbons - they also feel different hard to describe. Ribbons can be tricky because certain colors *cough, light blue* can fade to even almost a white color..

Now that I said that there are exceptions to that rule - the Happy Tail Ponies came with a single faced satin ribbon instead of a double face like the rest etc. good luck is all I can say - I'm still sorting out my ribbons.

For replacement ribbons I usually by the 1/4" Double-Face Satin Ribbons on the spool at Wal-Mart.
