She-ra sword??
« on: February 19, 2014, 12:17:07 PM »
Hi all! My best friend got me some ponies I had as a child but lost for my birthday 3 years ago. I asked her if she had a beloved toy she had lost and she said her She-ra costume sword.

I cannot find one ANYWHERE. Anyone know where to look? It can even be a modern sword but it must be She-ra looking.

Thanks :)

If you don't have to replace an actual toy and depending on how much you're willing to spend - one option would be inquiring with cosplay prop makers who take commissions. :) I'm sorry that I don't know any in particular I can point you to, I just know they exist !

Id ask someone that can work in resin. As far as the actual toy goes, I don't remember a sword but she came with many different outfits so its probably there somewhere.

Id check ghost of the doll^^

Wow that's a tough one.

I'm guessing she wants the actual plastic sword that a kid could wield, so she wouldn't be happy with a custom (there are a couple of customs on ebay)

I would keep an eye out on ebay for when one pops up-  maybe even check into a MOTU forum to see if anyone might actually have one hanging around...

There was a vintage clear She-Ra sword with glitter in the middle that sold a while back, but it with some figures went for $96. If you do a search for "He-Man or She-Ra Custom Wooden Power Sword Master of the Universe MOTU Cosplay" on ebay there is a listing for what looks like some really nice 30 inch swords. They can even add blue jewels. The seller has good feedback and the price is pretty reasonable. Hope that might be something your friend would like. :)

I think I know what sword you are talking about. When I was little most of my friends were boys. One of them was obsessed with He-Man. He had a set of child sized He-Man and Skeletor swords. And I VERY vaguely remember seeing a She-ra sword on Ebay years ago.

For this try cosplay.com

-  maybe even check into a MOTU forum to see if anyone might actually have one hanging around...

He-Man.org is the biggest He-Man/She-ra forum, but they aren't the nicest bunch of collectors. It would be a good place to try, but I wouldn't hang out there a lot.

Also, Ebay's saved searches are my best friend when it comes to finding HTF items. Save the search and they'll email you when new items are listed.

The sword you are looking for, is it made of plastic? I found a He-Man sword that they sold in Spain in the drugstores and such. Here is a photo of it (too colorful :/). I remember the classic grey plastic sword from when I was small.

But now I have kind of given up and I am seriously thinking about making a She-ra hilt on a basic wooden sword so it's more of a cosplay/adult size thing.
