Hey everyone.

This napper looked very odd so I took a gamble and got her..
She is a SUPER DARK reddish brown so i decided to see if it was rust on her tail washer that could be causing the color problem.
Turns out her washer looks very clean>> Anyone seen a napper like this before? Her body is the same color inside as outside and it is completely even and clean.
Do you think she fell in the wrong batch of dye? or is a variant of MO napper? or is just some really strangely uniformed discoloration?

Additional update:
The original owner stated that this pony as long as she can remember was always this color.

Could someone have cleaned her out at some point? I once had an MO Napper who was the same colour all over, but it was just discolouration.

Her head was factory sealed big time.. Took me 40 minutes to get it off.

Any back story from who you got her from? She's really interesting. I want to believe she's a variant.

No but I will now email her and ask her the story.. I wanted to be sure first that the color issue was not obviously explained and that her head was factory sealed on which it was.

It could always be something different that caused discolouration (rather than rust). I always considered there to be something a bit different about the plastic on the sparkle ponies (other  than just the glitter) and have seen Twinkler go strange colours in the past as well.

I have seen Twinkler discolour like that but not a Napper yet. She looks neat though :)

there are no patches of yellow whatsoever .. That leg was facing the sun in that photo but ultimately when i turn it to the other side it goes as dark as the other legs.. She is even colored all over.. no variation in hue whatsoever which is confusing for a discolored pony if she is that.

I've seen several of the Sparkle ponies severely discolor from how they were stored. She could have been kept in a hot attic, shed, or garage if there are no signs of direct sun damage.

Either way - she looks pretty cool like that!

Edit to add - I have a pony pal here in NZ (who's a member here) who got a Star Dancer (is that the name? The one who's pink, anyway) who was uniformly pretty much clear in colour - really cool.

Very strange!  Could it just be an odd batch of plastic?  I have a number of Twinklers in both opaque and clear plastic, quite consistently so I think those are plastic variants.  There are lots of instances of slight variations in colour, height, shape etc within pony characters.  Really interesting though!  I think she's quite special :)

It's prolly the plastic itself that reacts with (whatever)

I have a green Twinkler - she's completely green but the symbols and eyes and hair are perfect (no discoloration at all)
So it's prolly a plastic error? =)
