Ever found a custom in the wild?

While thrifting yesterday, I found this Criss Angel-inspired "Mindfreak" custom g3 pony. I had to grab her because it's exactly like something I would have made back when I was 12, I was obsessed. In fact, I'm surprised I didn't make a custom like this myself back then!

She was quite dirty, probably in storage for a while, so I cleaned her up as best I could and was very careful around the paint. There's some dark discolouration around her legs, probably from black paint smudging. I too used black paint on a white pony once upon a time, and I know what an ordeal it is to try and clean off a mistake. As you can see there's still a "shadow" of her original symbol on her DS, and we can see that she was originally a Strawberry Swirl.

I've found some customs by children at the flea market, usually just ponies with hair intact and lots of sharpie or peeling acrylic paint.

Wow, that's wild!! What a great find!

I don't go thrifting very much, so I haven't found any customs that way! but a few times I've found customs hidden in eBay lots; I always wonder if it's the artist offloading their extras, or if it's a thrifting find resale!

Oops and I forgot to add, what a great find for you!! How fortuitous! I think this pony found their perfect home with you!

Not while thrifting but like Snap I got one in an eBay lot once. It's "The Scream" painted on a broken neck G3. The main colors used are orange and blue, one of my fav combos. It is signed and my sleuthing finally found the artist, who also sells on eBay. I bought a couple more of her customs after I found her

Only found a Rarity painted with black nail polish and glitter (I assume the child that owned her before tried to replicate this custom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpHZsXjKJlc )
I did cut her hair and cleaned her with acetone since she was so sticky (I will try and use her somehow in the future).

one of mine (that was originally a commission) was found in the wild. I mark mine under the feet, and the new owner messaged me that they'd found it in a thrift store and love it

Wow! That's wild. Was it in good shape still? Crazy that a person would just donate it.

yeah, it was still in good shape. my guess is, something happened to the original owner and the family donated it along with other stuff
