We never did anything for New Years when I was a kid, but this year my boyfriend and I sat out on our balcony and watched the fireworks together. (We live close to the show grounds). It was nice but frankly I usually go to bed quite early so I was rather tired by the time 12 rolled around!

My family doesn't do anything special for New Year"s.  We do try to watch the Rose Parade and have black eyed peas on New Year's Day but that's about it.  We will also be putting the Christmas decorations away.

My parents believe that once the ball drops in Times Square on New Year's that's the end of the New Year's Eve celebration even if it drops before it is midnight in our time zone.

Tonight I celebrated by making it to the corner and back with Hannah. I still needed my cane but I don't care. It's one of the longest walks I've made since March and I'm going to celebrate it. We went down there in hopes of catching a glimpse of the lanterns going up at midnight from the Buddhist Temple up the road. Think we did manage a glimpse them before coming back where it was warm for a toast of champagne our brothers had brought over for us.
