Baby pearly seapony discolouration issue
« on: October 05, 2021, 08:53:16 AM »
Hello everyone,

I was cleaning my display and to my horror I found my pearly baby seapony sunshower has turned yellow in certain spots :(.  My theory is that it came from my home made pony stands, but the is also yellow on her back where the stand never touched her. My other seaponies are totally fine too.  I feel so dumb, she was flawless but no more.

Any way to fix this? Is there another possible cause for this?

Here she is:

Was she exposed to light? What do your stands look like? The way it's in a perfect line makes me wonder if it is your stands. That doesn't explain the part on her back though.

She was not exposed to direct sunlight. She was near a window though but I was told inderict sunlight is safe. My stands were basically a cardboard circle with a cardboard ring around it. Like a little cup. They are in the trash now.

Cardboard can definitely cause this issue and indirect light isn't always safe...

Yeah, what LBS said. I'd say it was a combo, and probably also age. Indirect light is better than straight up sunlight, but it can cause issues over time. Especially to ponies that are more prone to having issues in the first place. I've had to move ponies with fading pink hair to the back of my shelves because even indirect light was affecting the hair.

Thanks for the advise. I shall make adjustments.
