We have a kitchen garden - if anything wanders into the garden it gets transferred to the kitchen  ;)

I think I'm finally over my emotional eating binge, so I want to make something healthy for dinner. I'm thinking crunchy parmesan coated tilapia fillets with steamed whole green beans sounds good. The fish doesn't need anything added to it, it's so good. I like salt and pepper on my green beans and a tiny bit of butter.

I'm also having cravings for hashbrown casserole. It's not very healthy :P You make it with tater tots! Put 'em in the fridge over night to thaw, then squish them into little pieces. Add sautéed onions, 16oz of sour cream, a can of Campbell's cheddar cheese soup, shredded sharp cheddar and mix. Take some Cornflakes and crush them into small pieces, add butter and microwave for about 40 seconds. Stir and add to the top of the mix. Bake for 45 minutes. It's soooo rich and creamy and cheesy and delicious

Today I made the best cabbage casseroli I've ever had!

Plus some brownies, because the oven was hot and I had some baking chocolate that was already past its prime. I don't bake chocolatey things often.  They're a bit overdone, more cakey than gooey, but delicious all the same!

I don't know how to cook.

Is it something you'd like to learn? :) What kinds of food do you enjoy? You can always start with something simple, a few dishes you can practice and perhaps learn to make variations of. Like an omelette, or soups, stews and casseroli dishes - those are all pretty straightforward. And I'm sure you can find lots of videos online if written instructions are not clear enough! I know even simpler recipies may be difficult to follow if one is a total beginner and not familiar with the basic processes, and often measurements and instructions are not exact.

Oh yes it must be an adventure!

Ah well that complicates things :D Would she allow you to cook with her? That could be a nice way to spend some family time together.

Tomorrow I'm making turkey burgers :) I started eating meat again (turkey and beef) about 2 months ago after 14 years of being a lacto-ovo-pescatarian. There were a lot of reasons why.

Anyway, turkey burgers! Sautéed chopped onion, a vegetable base you mix with water to make a sauce (it's very good), mozzarella cheese and Worcestershire sauce mixed with the meat. Form into patties and cook in a skillet. I bought turkey bacon to top them with too. The grocery store gave me 3 pounds of ground turkey even though I only ordered one, so I'll be making extras to bring to my parents house the next day and freeze some. I might freeze some of the meat on its own but I don't know what else I could make with it? Meatballs maybe? I don't know. The burgers just sound so good
