Can you glue a pony back together
« on: July 17, 2021, 12:18:35 PM »
I found my sea pony on the floor with plastic ripped off. I’m guessing one of my dogs stole it. I was able to get her before any bad damage was done. I would’ve bought a new one but the one I own would be a lot more expensive and are harder to find in the condition mine was in. Would using a hot glue gun be okay for putting it back together.

I use superglue to but opened heads back on. It's a tricky and runny substance that quickly gets everywhere. It's sturdy though. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

It would do the job! Just might not be the prettiest. :)
I think some sort of apoxie glue or super glue would hold it for a bit longer and be a little more discreet.

Dad fixed the split hooves of some of my childhood ponies with superglue when I was a kid. The glue lasted for a while, but eventually the cracks reopened and there's glue residue around the hooves.

It's something you can do but *carefully* I guess?

I wouldn't use a hot glue gun. I remember those things, they're pretty unwieldy.

I wouldn't use fast-drying superglue on Ponies. Especially not in plastic tears

I prefer overnight glue, the kind you leave overnight to dry, or a glue which is more geared to fixing soft plastics. Even then the fix may not be perfect.
My Mascots (so far): Twisty Tail, G2 Trixiebelle, Starcatcher, Twilight Sparkle. All variants & pictures of these are appreciated. Piccies courtesy of Griffin, Blumiere, Littlebabyribbon, & Starscout
