Hair match for piggy melocoton (butterscotch)?

(1/1)

ScotchHop:
Hi all,

I have a Melocoton that has had a mane trim up front. Does anyone happen to know if there is anywhere that does a good hair match so I can fix her?

I'm think it's going to be devilishly difficult to find something that is not only the right shade, but also just as silky and fine  >_<

On a related note, there is a small pen dot on my Azul Celeste. I'm guessing sunfading would be a bad idea?

Thanks!

Perhaps a vintage regular Butterscotch tail would be the answer? Sometimes "new" nylon just isn't right on a vintage pony.

I have a piggy Orquidea (Blossom with lilac body and hair) with a front/forelock cut, I left it in the end and gave her a headband to wear as I couldn't find a match I was happy with.

ScotchHop:
Hey PKW,

Good idea, but unfortunately I compared and Butterscotch is much blonder than Melocoton.
I’ve got some new nylon hair that’s not a bad match, but it’s just as you say…it’s too ‘shiny’ and not as silky as her original hair. I might see if there’s a way to ‘age’ nylon hair to make it a bit closer to the original.

Here’s a photo for comparison of my piggy with Butterscotch and the hair I picked up visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Headwear might be the way forward

Ponybookworm:
Butterscotch is so hard to find a hair colour for anyway. But that shade looks really close to the piggy. A little ageing would do the trick there

pinkkittywinks:
Oh gosh, Butterscotch isn't a match at all! :wow: Melocoton's hair looks much more brown.

Personally, I would go for headwear  on saying that sometimes a little "flaw" on a pony can end up being endearing as it adds personality ^.^
