my trivial complaint?  I had to go to walmart at 8:30 am this morning to make sure there were as few people there as possible while shopping.  But who the &$#@ wants to be in Walmart at 8:30 am?  LOL

I went down the rabbit hole a little I did a search for the origin of Texas toast and it was either created in Dallas or Beaumont TX. i guess there is a dispute.

This article talks some about the restaurant in Beaumont https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/arts-culture/food/2019/05/09/332670/how-did-texas-become-the-only-state-with-its-own-toast/ The San Antonio Pig Stand which is the last remaining location of the possible inventor of Texas toast is still hanging on as far as i can tell from google. the website is gone though. that part of town is gentrifying but san antonio does an ok job of preserving landmarks. i never went when i lived there though.

my complaint today is its cold so the thermostat wars have resumed. my partner wants to blast the heater and gets upset when i don't want the heater on 73  we need to get a fireplace installed.

Those who hate crowds & are awake early enough. Done it myself with the local Coop when I needed food & was awake early, because crowds are a nightmare

While doing something I've done hundreds of times before, I somehow twisted my wrist in a weird way. I got this sharp pain that went into my fingers before they all went numb and then started to tingle. I've bumped my elbow before and had that happen too. So on top of my carpal tunnel there is another ache in my hand/wrist today.

I burned my arm a few days ago when i was taking something out of the oven. it still hurts and it's kind of reddish.

We have that in my area too.  It's interesting how different Texas Toast can be in different places.


I'm having a really emotional day.  Just about everything makes me want to cry for no reason.


My dad brought cheese pizza home for lunch.  I don't like cheese pizza but my dad is convinced that getting pepperoni is a waste because my mom takes all the pepperoni off of her pizza anyway.  We've asked him to bring pepperoni pizza instead but he usually gets cheese. 

We keep frozen pepperoni on hand so I can add some to my pizza.  My mom took some out and I noticed right away that it didn't look right.  I questioned her about it but she told me that it would be fine after it had thawed out in the microwave. 

After I took my pizza with the pepperoni out of the microwave the pepperoni still looked bad.  I told my mom that pepperoni is supposed to be red not brown.  After she looked closely at it she decided it was bad and told me to take it off my pizza.  Why didn't she believe me when I told her that the pepperoni wasn't right to start with?

I re-hurt my wrist getting dressed this morning It's cold, so I put on my hoodie and socks and somehow twisted it again. Being that it's cold, my joints are hurting more so my wrist is killing me with the carpal tunnel and this dumb injury.

...also typing the sentence that the cold hurts my joints. I'm only 38

Beth, I feel you. I'm 47, coming on 48 in a few months, & things of that nature are likely to get worse for me as I approach the dreaded five zero...

I slept until 9:30 this morning

I'm really surprised my cat let me sleep. Unless she tried to get me up and I don't remember. I feel awful my teeth hurt, my head feels like it weighs 50lbs, I'm soooo tired. Bleh. I wanted to visit my parents tomorrow or Friday, but not if this keeps up.

It was so awfully windy today, there wasn't any snow anymore and the sky was partly clear but it still felt freezing cold just because of this strong wind!

I'm dehydrated. I drink a lot of water but I guess it's not enough. I hate having to go to the bathroom all the time though. The humidity is low, which makes me more thirsty and has given me chapped lips. I woke up and my mouth and throat were dry. I can tell my cat is more thirsty than usual too.
