Can I dye these ponies?
« on: May 27, 2021, 09:29:03 AM »
Hrllo everyone,

I'm back with another dye question.

I have a blue hearts dazzlehlow who us more of a peach-ish colour then her original pink. She has her original hair and tail,  their slightly cut but it's no big deal.

I was wondering if I could dye her. What colours should should I use and stuff like that. If I should dye her at all? I don't want to ruin her, given she's so rare.

If you have advice, please let me know.

Cheers,

Luke

Hmm. I wouldn't. At least not without extensive testing on Glow n Shows. The fading or changing color is common in them.

Problems you'd run into is, how to protect her hair. You can remove the tail but not the mane, unless you also plan to rehair her. You'd need to figure out exactly how much dye to use; too much and she'd be too pink or even turn orange if she is peachy colored now. It's just too much of a risk, I think. If you had a baity regular Dazzleglow to test on, I'd say go ahead and test. But just winging it with a blue hearts? Nah.

I would not risk dyeing these. As BC said, it's very common to see some form of color shift, and if no one else can vouch for it, you would possibly ruin a very pricey and sought after pony.

I think dyeing her would work well. You have a peach base color which includes yellow. When you dye her pink, it might not work on a precolored pony. If you want to get her a tad more pink - airbrushing her very slightly with pink would work and would not harm her body color. However it's not guaranteed it works either. And blue hearts Dazzleglow is indeed harder to come by. So maybe you like to sell her instead or leave her as she is? I bet she still is a beautiful girl.

Thank you for all your advice.

I think I'll keep her her peachy self. She's still cute :)
