I found one volume of Fushigi Yuugi once at a used bookstore but didn’t but buy it because it wasn’t volume 1 and I can’t read manga out of order.

I still need to read Yona 25.

Also, the Walmart store that had carried a few mangas for a few months stopped stocking them.

i admit this problem never occurred to me when my primary source for cheap manga was when the library would have book sales of their discarded items. I bought hundreds of books ; DH and I would drive to all the library branches on a weekly basis to check out their sales section LOL

they were 50 cents each - wouldn't you?

problem is, now we have so many series that we only have a few of, not the whole series. I think I will be hunting in thrift stores FOREVER to finish the collection because Amazon is expensive. my internal voice moans, "another volume 1... another series started..."

That reminds me of when I was in Japan and the BookOff stores and their second hand manga shelves. Kyoto had multiple BookOff stores and the one in the main shopping district was really big. Shelves and shelves and shelves of stuff...

They'd be selling the entire run of a manga (even ones with 70 or 80 volumes!) shrinkwrapped together for like 10-15$ equivalent (obviously in Japanese, but that isn't an issue for me).

But I didn't have case space to bring ANY OF THEM back with me.
It was heartbreaking :/

Kind of glad I hadn't discovered Daiya by then though. Or I would've felt compelled to try...so many of the early volumes go out of print and it's a pain. I still don't have a complete run of act 1.

I wouldn't be able to resist if I saw a bunch of manga series bundled together like that.

I've been keeping up with Spy X Family and Burn the Witch.(I use the Shonen Jump app for those) There are a lot of manga I've been reading but those are the main two I try to keep up with. Some of my other faves are Komi Can't Communicate, Bungo Stray Dogs, The Girl from The Other Side and Kaguya Sama Love is War.

I picked up Yona 26 today.

and the next volume of Komi Can’t Communicate I needed. Komi is on my to be read list. I’m also reading Takane and Hana.

Just finished re-reading Musume no Iede, it's good! Kinda difficult to track all the different characters, but I still like it. Wish it'd get officially released in English -w-

It looks like Viz underestimated how popular Mermaid Saga would be. It seems to be out of stock everywhere.

Ordered vol 33 of Yona and 23 and 24 of Daiya Act II this morning. I'm up to date with the Daiya manga more or less because I read the Japanese raws when they hit YT, but I still like to buy it anyway. I'm not up to date with Yona because I'm a coward and would rather have a stock of books before catching up...wary of cliffhangers xD.
