I finally got my grail notebook! Now it's just a matter of waiting patiently until it arrives.
It's a Shadow of the Colossus notebook that was reportedly a promotional item for the launch of the PS4 version, with the sigil from Wander's tabard and faint impressions of the majestic stony faces of the colossi on each page and ooooh, it looks so lovely! I also stumbled upon a delightful My Little Pony notebook too, which is pale blue, possibly green, won't know until it arrives, with Milky Way in beautiful gold foil lineart. This means I'll be sorted for stylish books to keep my tin whistle and kalimba tablature in. :D
(It's so much easier to commit tabs to memory when they've been written down than it is to read them from the laptop screen!)

I have been informed by my father to stop referring to dr. Soong from Star Trek (creator of data) as Dadta.

No I will not stop. :P

Gave my kid a spa evening - epsom salt bath, candles, jam on toast!

I think she enjoyed it!  :)

A couple of things made me smile today. The main one was making a roast vegetable risotto for the first time; it turned out really nice and it's motivated me to try out some more variations (pea and mint risotto is next on the list of things to try!) The other thing that made me happy today was making progress with Resident Evil 4, as I'd been putting off finishing the castle section for far too long. It is done now. I feel accomplished and will continue to do so until I have to deal with the regeneradores.

Oof, those are creepy.

My smile is also video game related. I've been playing The Sims4 in earnest lately. I had gotten it and several expansion/game/stuff packs back during a sale of some sort but only played a little, still opting to spend my "sims time" with The Sims3 (my personal favorite). I don't have the hang of building yet but just playing with my Sims is really fun. It has that same quirkiness and charm that Sims1 had. It's made me laugh several times.

My aunt and uncle, who were both suffering from Covid-19 and unable to get proper treatment, are now doing much better! I’m so relieved, I could dance. Both of them were older, at-risk individuals, and my aunt is a cancer survivor... I’m just so glad they’re recovering well.

They are indeed, I've had to set myself a task to front up to them and hope for the best... also hoping for plenty of incendiary grenades to hurl at them!

And the thing that made me smile today was that the mint plant has multiplied. There are tiny shoots coming up around the main plant and they are just *so adorable*!

That's a relief!

I was busy in the kitchen yesterday, which means that today I was able to sit back and enjoy the results - I made some wonderful baba ganoush using this recipe and tasty vegan banana bread (is there even a way to ruin banana bread? no matter what changes I make to the recipe it turns out amazing every time!). Mmmm food! Totally puts a smile on my face  :yummy:

I am so glad to hear that they're doing better :D COVID really is a lottery, but this is one of those times where that was a good thing! Fingers crossed it also protects them going forward!

Now that I have a job, I now have money to spend as I please. And Wikipedia helped me many times in my life, being a source of free and reliable information. So, I decided to pay a tiny bit of gratitude back in a small donation. It wasn’t much, but I feel really good about supporting something that supported me through many a research project or just boredom.
