I tried out a different type of cloth mask today and it's been a success! It's much less loose on my face than the pleated fabric kind (even with the elastic twisted, that one is still loose!) and I have fewer issues with steamy spectacles. Hurrah!

Had a strange dude come into our cafe today - strange as in I got a bad gut feeling before he even walked in the door. I'm pretty dense, so you've got to give out some serious bad vibes for me to even notice.

What made me smile was that a lady I barely know had seen him, did a U-turn, returned to the cafe and stayed until she was sure he was gone. She knew I was working alone and made an effort to make sure I stayed safe.

Bless her. :lovey:

There was a big ol' herd of sheep in the fields on the outskirts of town today! There were Beltexes, Kerry Hills and Welsh Mountain sheep! Seeing them made it entirely worthwhile to go traipsing out to the most dour and uninspiring part of Macclesfield in utterly atrocious weather.

Watching an internet friend's kitty play with a unicorn toy I bought her. :)
I'm having a crappy day, and really needed to see someone else be happy for a thing.

French accent: "Listen vewy carefully, I shall say zis only once..."

There is an 80s / 90s UK BBC comedy show called 'Allo 'Allo, it is a farce-style comedy about WW2 occupied France and the japes that the French Resistance gets up to and the complex friendships with the German occupiers.

Anyway, there is a long-running joke about a valuable old painting that everyone wants to have, to sell after the war to make their fortune, with all the crazy sagas involved with the different parties trying to steal it.

Guess what? The company who provide the props for the stage-production of 'Allo 'Allo are selling copies of this painting, printed on to canvas!

Anyway, I now own a copy of "The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies by Van Clomp" and had fun yesterday searching out a classic swept frame to display it in.

It shall have pride of place hanging in my bathroom/toilet (something quirky that will start a conversation when guests see it!)

Ahh, my gaming chair is finally fixed! I'm so tall sitting at my desk! It's nice to have the lumbar cushion back too.

Watching my big kitty go crazy with a Grumpy Cat toy, the toy has a long feathery tail that can be made to wiggle very enticingly.

Also my current post count (after making this post) :silly: 11,111! It will be a while before I reach another fun number!

Happened just now, when I saw Broken Irishwoman's new signature/avatar pictures...I had that Gnomes book as a child and seeing her pictures immediately brought back happy childhood memories

Managed to win an auction for a vintage 1930s fountain pen, complete with a cute heart-shaped breather hole in the nib!

I don't care too much if it does not work (I have plenty of decent modern ones that I use) but the nib looks so charming, I could look at it all day

Think of all that history that pen lived through, I wonder what words were written? Love letters? Tax bills? interesting to daydream about it...

I have a Reddit pagey (well my plushie sharky does but she lets me borrow it). From there I found a Reddit pagey called Writing prompts. I put on a simple prompt & it got four amazing responses!!!

These foxes made me smile today. They're just so majestic. XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-42P_iYrthM
I was also amused by a jackdaw that went flying purposefully up to a house, tapped its talons on the wall, presumably realised that it couldn't land on a vertical surface and then swooped up onto the roof as if to say "Totally meant to do that."
