A comedy sketch from an Irish TV show, about songs being taken literally, completely made my day today. It's easily one of the funniest things I've seen in ages but I can't link to it because it's got a lot of adult humour in it. One of the best ones was Wonderwall, where two blokes were gazing in sheer amazement at a plain grey wall, and one of them was on his phone going "You've got to get down here and look at this brickwork!" :lol:

You know I often wish that someone would do a comedy sketch where they literally reenacted the things they say on the football commentary. Like, "he's taken his legs!" and "he's a poacher in the box!" and...there's so much nonsense I think it'd be brilliant.
Your example made me think of it :)

Its my birthday.  ^.^

Happy birthday, tikibirds!!  :birthday:

What made me smile is that everyone in my film class had to pitch a concept for a short film today, and not only did I get to hear everyone's ideas and see how creative everyone is, but my pitch was voted to be one of the four final short films we'll be making! I have self esteem issues, so this was a real boost to my confidence.

The starlings are gathering again. :D We never see them throughout the year, but each year they come here in September to get the berries from the tree across the street. They dive into it by the dozens, eat, and then the whole tree "explodes" as they fly away. This happens a few times a day until all the berries are gone. And the noise they make...! :D :heart:

They haven't started robbing the tree yet, but this morning I woke up to the sound of one or two starlings for the first time this year, so it'll only be a matter of days before they're all here. ^.^

Oooh, yes! That would make for some great comedy moments! Incidentally, I am now thinking of one football player grabbing another by the legs and absconding across the pitch with him. XD

And the thing that made me smile today was a bit of an odd one, as it turns out an interview I was preparing for tomorrow, is in fact scheduled for next week. More time to prepare - woo! :frolic:

My bus driver was dressed as Dennis the Menace.

...I still don't know why. But it definitely made me smile.

Found this video of a porcupine that sounds like it's from a cartoon. That made me smile.

I have been reading some really great fanfiction based on an anime that I love.  The author has stated that they watch the episodes as they write and it really shows how close they’ve tried to stay to cannon while making the story their own and not simply repeating everything that happens in the anime.  There’s been a few times that I haven’t agreed with how a character acts or responds to things in their story but most of the time their characterizations are very true to the anime.

The best fanfictions do this <3.

@Tikibirds - belated happy birthday!

My thing for today is maybe making progress, finally, on editing my thesis towards it maybe...one day...being a book.

I was given a gift at work today, a Guinness bottle opener that doubles as a fridge magnet! Now I just need some actual Guinness to go with it. ;D
There were also some really lovely customers in the shop today. There were also some absolutely awful, entitled, self-centred people as well, but the really nice people massively outnumbered them and I'm very grateful for that.
