Netflix worked on the Smart TV tonight.   :cheer:  :cheer:  No stopping in the middle of movie, no buffering and restarting and no strange pixelating.

I was sorting through some donations during my volunteer work today and there was so much Wedgwood jasperware! There were Christmas plates for every year from 1973 to 1979, another plate to commemorate the Moscow olympics, a nice big vase and a cute little trinket dish. The real showstopper was a massive, really hefty bonbon dish, though. I'm trying to exercise restraint when it comes to vintage Staffordshire-made ceramics, but they're always nice to see!
Also licorice allsorts have made me very happy today. Mmmm.

I found a calendar from 1999. I kept it for two reasons. One, it's a tiger calendar and they're one of my favorite animals. Two, I wrote down the day I got my cat Bass

She passed away in 2017. She was my heart and I miss her everyday. Seeing that little message I wrote, "Day I got Bastet" made me really happy that I've kept the calendar this long.  :lovey:

I went to the dentist today for a deep cleaning and then a routine checkup with a different dentist, and I heard that everything was perfect!

I finally completed the Fish Tome on Okami! It took far too long to find an oarfish to catch, and I am sick of the sight of monkfish and huchen, but it's done now. Ah, sweet relief. Definitely a worthwhile achievement in life. XD

This is a very superficial thing given the crises still happening around the world.

But sometimes those things matter.

Somehow, despite VAR, Covid and all the naysayers, Villa are spending another year in the premiership.

I'm not sure how that happened. But I'm not complaining.

Supporting midland football teams is not for the faint hearted.

A hedgehog visited the garden this evening! My wildlife habitats are still very much a work in progress, so it's great to see that what's there is already being enjoyed by lovely little critters. I also finally managed to draw something halfway decent, despite the persistent anxiety that's been throwing a spanner in the works of practically everything I'd tried to do lately. Victory! Now I just have to get back into the habit of drawing on a regular (ideally daily) basis.

If it helps any, I really dig your art. I saw your blog when it was still linked. Really liked the magazines though as an American some of the jokes went over my head

Yay for cat medicine <3

My mother had a phone conversation with the hospital this morning (following up a review appt she should have had in April but you know, covid and shielding and all that). And they were quite surprised and impressed by how long since she last had an infection (apparently not since she was hospitalised in may 2019 with pneumonia)...to the point they asked her how she was doing it so they could take notes xD.

I told her it's because she's a biological alien.

Because sometimes I genuinely think she is.

This comically tiny whittling knife has suitably amused me today. :D (Shown with laptop keys for scale)

I seriously doubt the likelihood of it being any use for carving, but it is entertaining!

Thank you very much! That really means a lot, I've been in two minds over whether or not to continue working on my zines for ages because I thought nobody was enjoying them!

Netflix worked again on the Smart TV. :D  I think I figured how to make it not stop or suddenly buffer in the middle of a movie.

Finally finished cutting back the ridiculously overgrown hedge (or 'The Primordial Wilderness', which is its proper name) in the back garden, which involved sawing through numerous branches - some as thick as a person's thigh - with a handsaw. So glad that's done!

In the (non-Pony, adult-themed) story I'm writing my main character, & some others, can hear all animals talk. Early on I established that insects sing, & that beetles, due to being unable to resist the pun, sing songs based on songs by the Beatles. I just found out fireflies are beetles too, & look forward to having them do a version of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds!!!

I have a small stack of Post It notes on my desk.  These make me smile because they are thoughts I wanted to write down before I forgot them. A few notes quickly grew in to more.  Hopefully I will be able to read my own writing when I type my thoughts from the notes on the computer.
