Taffeta, i'm glad your sister is home

I should be able to put the plants back out tomorrow. It should be warm and sunny. Texas weather is all over the place.  This cold is part of the same system that caused the tornados in Kentucky. Yesterday was in the low 80s(F) and we had the AC running for a while. This morning i woke up around 5 because i needed to turn the heat on.  Tonight it's supposed to freeze so i wanted to make sure i didn't forget to bring in the plants before bed.

I'm hoping for some rain this week because the plants don't like the tap water. they always perk up when it rains.

Put finishing touches on two Custom Ponies today, one with a festive theme. They just need to dry & be groomed & assigned ribbons. Should be photo-ready tomorrow!!!

I went for a nice winter walk outside the town, snow was everywhere, it was pleasantly cold, I loved it

There's stuff in tap water that plants aren't mad about, but it's better than nothing. I tend to not give rainwater to my house plants, as they're not used to outside contaminants, unless they spend time outside normally.

My seven year old poinsettia is enthusiastically decorating my carpet with its old leaves, which it takes great pleasure in doing, usually right after I tidy. It's huge now and has taken over all of my cabinet. It no longer bracts, because of the artificial light in my room. But it's like my pet and I don't mind.

I had to rearrange her branches a few weeks ago, after discovering her leaves were textured enough to activate my tablet screen xD. She started one of my audiobooks...

I have a few house plants but the poinsettia and the dragon tree are the special ones. The latter lives downstairs though.

That's not a specific making me smile thing, but plants do make me happy

plants are back outside. they weren't happy to be indoors. but i did like having some greenery in the house. after we move i need to look for some houseplants that low maintenance and aren't poisonous to my dogs.

only a week and a half until vacation time.

edit, later: My Christmas present from my mom came today It's an ice maker I eat too much ice to make them in trays and can't get ice delivered from Walmart. It's a cute little Igloo in a pretty pale blue. I haven't tried it yet, gotta clean it and "let it settle for an hour" according to the instructions.

I wasn't sure where my G1 Baby Bonnet School of Dance was.  I knew that I kept it but it seemed to be hiding from me.  Just now my dad pulled it out of a box in the garage.  It's a little dirty and some of the pieces are warped due to age but I'm really happy to have it back again.

I'm still a little tired, but I feel pretty good this morning

I started taking a muscle relaxer before bed and it makes such a big difference. It's not a current script, I had some leftover from the ER when I went for my back. I think I'll ask my doctor to add it to my list.

On the sharky Discord I mentioned before, we had an annual charity drive. We donate money to a cause which helps sharks, & this year there was a raffle among every donator for a sharky book, with five in total to win.

We raised the equivalent of $1000 & I was one of the winners!!!

I don't want to be political, so I'm just going to say that the news from North Shropshire this morning amused me greatly.

I worked hard (for me, anyway) on several days deep cleaning my apartment. My kitchen sparkles I'm halfway done with the bathroom, just have to mop the floor and clean the tub. At first, I was really sore but I'm actually feeling okay right now. I know that happens when you haven't used your muscles in a while, they get better the more you use them (and that's why exercising is so addictive). Maybe when I'm done cleaning, I should do more with my back, then it won't hurt so much all the time.

Cheers peeps. I'll let you know when I get my book. Today, meeting cool people on the bus, & being able to help comfort one who got a scare (she's 15 & some drunk older bloke harassed her), among other things. Just glad I was able to help that girl, as well as the fact we both got off at the same stop so I literally saw her to her mother.
