@BlackCurtains  Aloes are pretty hardy.  My mom bought a tiny, sad looking one years ago from Walmart. She took it home, watered it and it grew so big that got too big for the giant pot it was in.  It even made several baby aloe plants inside the same pot.  I think it finally died but it lasted a long time.

The Arena makes me smile a lot too. :D I love that I can come here and we can have conversations with each other.  There were some dark days while my mother was having/recovering from surgery.  Knowing that I could come here and talk about how I felt and what I was dealing with  helped me a lot.

I also love that I've found someone to have in depth discussions with  about my favorite animes and manga :D  My family is tolerant of it for the most part but they don't like it or get why it's interesting to me so trying to have more than a casual conversation about it with them is pointless.

One time I was talking to my mom about one of my favorites and her response was "How many baseball games do they play?"

Ponyfan, yeah :) I really thought the little one was dead. I was going to pull it out and throw it away and I'm glad I was too lazy :P It looks healthy and strong now. I hope the big one can make a come back too. I've had them for almost a year.

My smile is I fixed my mom's phone and can call her again :)

Succulents are really tough. Though here they are 100% indoor plants as they wouldn't survive a UK winter.

I used to have an aloe a long time ago. Sister still does. I have a cactus and another succulent, both rescues, and they only need watering very occasionally. They're both still growing.

Dad's cacti are outside at the moment, one of them flowers really beautifully each June but only for 24 hours =D

@Ponyfan, the answer to the baseball game question is A LOT xD.

I have a small succulent that my sister gave me for Mother's Day over 2 years ago that I have miraculously been able to keep alive. One side of the plant has branched out of the pot by a foot or 2. Usually I kill every plant I touch, but I'm happy that this one still keeps going.

Although Sunday’s storm didn’t hit the area where I live, I still enjoyed the wonderfully strong wind all day and now the cold weather at night.

The Sims 4 Cottage Living comes out tomorrow :freak: I haven't been this excited for a game release since RDR2 (and how different the games are is funny to me)

I'm happy about it today because the base game got some updates too. We can finally make ponds! But there will be extra effects and things with the new EP that I don't believe are in the base game. You can set a spawner that gives you ducks! And dragonflies! And a gator! And there's farming! And farm animals! And you can get killed by a bunny!

I preordered it so it'll download as soon as I get to my PC. I'm so excited!

The sky has been relatively clear lately but without the temperature being too high, which means that right now it's a perfect middle ground, without the two worst things about summer: storms and high temperatures! :relaxed:

My parents are visiting, and mom was looking over the new pony display I'm working on.

Mom: Who's the girl? She's unrelated to the ponies, right?
Dad: That's Megan.

And he started reminiscing about pony-related names he remembers from our childhoods. Which was like... Baby Firefly and Katrina. But I'm really impressed the name of a one-off villain stuck with him like that for 30+ years. I guess we must have been pretty obsessed with that special.

Two hours until Cottage Living drops! :freak:  :yippee:  :frolic:

I thought it released at 10am but that's wherever EA is which is 1pm my time. I was sad at first but now that it's closer to the time, I'm excited again!

That reminds me of when Wondermint's collection was being displayed at Dudley museum and Dad and I went to see it. And from a whole wall full of ponies, basically floor to ceiling, he confidently walked over, ppointed at one and said, that one's Windy.

I kind of stared at him when he did that. Windy was my first pony, but mostly when he's guessed pony names in the past he's got stuck on Cotton Candy. But out of all the ponies there he got her right first time.

Very proud.

That is so sweet, Taffeta! It's so sweet when parents pay enough attention to what their kids are into to remember little details like that.

Aw that's lovely when parents unexpectedly know the names of your toys from years ago!

Watching the new He-man on Netflix tonight and had to giggle at Evil-Lyn using the British vernacular to describe her feelings when she & Orko get attacked in the Trollen room by the single-horned beast thing.

"Oh Bol*****" is not something I had ever expected her to say!!

...OMG Glitterball! That's going to take some explaining to incensed UK parentals xD.

So my happy thought for today is very warm and fuzzy.

Dad and I went to feed the water birds this morning. He was a bit envious Mum and I did the other day and he wanted to take some photos anyway...he used to film the swans when we were kids, and he's always been fond of the ponds. So we went.

The normal duck mob were there, and some moorhens again. Also the geese with their two goslings (who really have a lot to learn about how to get to food first).

But the cutest thing was an adolescent moorhen...who grabbed the food and then...took it to feed it to its baby sibling. Apparently this is something juvenile moorhens do with younger broods, they help take care of them. Then teenage moorhen and mother moorhen sat on the rock together preening each other.

Moorhens are lovely. The babies are little fuzzy squeak toys, but they're really so cute.

Aw that's sweet, Taffeta, it brings back memories of my childhood when I used to feed the waterfowl by the riverbank a short walk away from my parents' housel.  :) :)

We have a box hedge in our front garden, I planted it as eight little twigs when we first moved here; it has grown beautifully and serves its purpose as a barrier against wayward pedestrians who would otherwise let their dogs scramble about our lawn.

Today, I got my secateurs & shears and gave it a long-overdue "haircut"!
It certainly needed it - and was oh so satisfying to do!
Lopped off a good 6 inches all around and made it look more uniform.
Highly recommended activity to make you relax & feel accomplished afterwards!
