please help me authenticate prototype FS white Celestia

I just BIN'ed this, thinking it was a pretty good price for the prototype FS white Celestia (though I expect her value to plummet if she ever gets a regular release).  Anyway, then I started to look at her more carefully, and I wondered if this was just the white one with music notes on her wings that had been altered.  Now I'm thinking that the music notes were removed, or something like that.  I haven't actually paid yet, so if she's a fake, maybe it's not too late.

I looked up some pics of the original white FS Celestia prototype, and her symbol looks very light, like on the original regular pink release.  The gold symbol on this one is dark, like on the version with music notes.

What do you guys think?  Has this one been altered?  Should I try to get out of this sale?

Okay...this one is tough for me...i have a few taobao ponies from a couple of years ago.I have Ralestia (Rarity's head on Celestia's body) and White Celestia. Ralestia has glitter on her wings and White Celestia has no glitter on her wings at all. I don't know how well this comes out in the pics. I really wouldn't know how to tell an original white Celestia vs one with music notes removed. i think there was a thread that compared the two. All i know is i got these directly from the Taobao agent 2 years ago.

Hmm, I was wondering about that.  There's glitter on both the horn and wings of the one I just BIN'ed, though it's not heavy on the wings.  Is that another indication that this is a fake?

Are the hair colors the same on the white proto as they are on the music notes one?  Proto Celestia's hair appears a bit lighter than the music nite one, from what I can tell by pictures of the two.

This is mine and I got her a few years ago. She has glitter on her wings. I can try and take better pictures later if this doesn't help.

After studying the pics in both threads and comparing it to the one you purchased on ebay, it looks like it's missing that light sea green/blue colour in the mane that Galactica refers to in the thread that PKW supplied.

Does the horn have glitter on the.prototype too?

It's really the symbol that worries me on the one I BIN'ed; it looks too dark.

I really think its a newer Celestia. Her hair lacks that seafoamish/minty green between the teal and purple. Now she might have had music notes, or maybe not. Best way to figure that out is to feel and smell her wings for any sign of acetone/paint removal. Sometimes it even changes the texture of the wings and can feel sticky on certain plastics. Do you have a Pinklestia at home? When you get your white Celestia in the mail check/ compare her eyes to a Pinklestia FS!!! The newer one has stretched out larger eyes.

How about asking the seller for the dates on her hooves?

I am thinking she looks like a de music noted Celestia unfortunately; the symbol colour is wrong and the aqua green stripe is missing.  However, all that being said, Taobao being what Taobao is there are lots of minor differences even in the ponies found there because they are tests and rejects.

I agree with Cat. Seems like the old ones have the extra aqua green stripe in the hair.

My daughter ran off with the second Celestia so I am not sure if she has glitter on her wings or not.

She looks exactly like my Musical Notes White Celestia....she has sparkles on her horn as well. Did the prototype have sparkles? I know SoSilver has a large pic on his sales thread right now...his would definitely be a genuine proto from a couple of years ago:

She doesn't appear to have sparkles...and the circle within the sun is more pronounced.
The original prototype also has a more aquamarine green stripe after the light blue streak between her ears. I'm inclined to think that this pony has been altered.

Could it be a newer prototype or a misprint? After all I have seen in box ponies without their cutie marks.
