New Packaging Differences?

The newly packaged, basic G4 ponies are starting to show up here. I just picked up a set and they all have DVDs. I just noticed some people showing off new purchases and they don't have DVDs (mostly in Europe).

Do they only come with DVDs in the US and no dvd in Europe?Are both versions available in the US?

What versions have been found where?

both are showing up on stores,  there are only 4 with dvd's and there is all mane 6 with no dvd

I found 3 of the 4 with the DVD  at Walmart

I wonder when we'll start finding the non-dvd ones in my area. I personally like the new packaging.

Are the non-dvd ones the crystal ponies with tinsel? (I can't tell from the image)

It does look as though the next wave with all 6 of the main 6 ponies will be released without a DVD this time around - so I would say that is when to grab them if you dont want a DVD in the pack. Just a note that they are being packed with just 1 x Twilight and 1 x Fluttershy to every 3 x AJ, 3 x Rarity and 2 x Dash and 2 x Pinkie so you should grab them when you see them perhaps in case a store only gets single cases of the non DVD wave in.

I have three of them right now and wish that they did not have the DVD with them I am going to wait to get the others without the DVD's.

Well, there's more to it. Over here in Asia we're getting them in US packaging but without DVDs as well.

I'll make sure to pick up any as soon as I see them. Hathorcat, thanks for the info on the case qtys. Its crazy they have such an uneven distribution, especially since I would think Twilight would be more popular with its target crowd.

Ramchyld- good to hear! I'll keep an eye out for them. NY is one of the last to get items (shipping goes from asia to western us to east coast lol)

I think the up-weight on Rarity and AJ in this case is because they were not in the previous wave. But yes the continued insistence on Dash and Pinkie always being in a larger quantity than the main character must just be HBs research on who is most popular.

We have seen a few other countries get US releases without the DVD in the past but that could just be due to where they are permitted to release episodes of the show rather then an indication that such a release could happen in the US.
