That's funny, I have a list of these that I call 'Ultimate Customs'. I'm trying to try all of them, I was amazed at how many I've tried so far. You added some I hadn't thought about.

I think I'll do the same and make a list of "Ultimate Customs" . I'm really looking forward to making my own Peacock pony! <3

I found my list and the only 'ultimate custom' we don't have listed is a dragon pony. I don't know that everyone does them, but I feel like most of the pros have done one

Another popular one used to be generic swirls of paint. And then people wanted $30 for those customs and I thought they weren't worth ruining a pony for, especially a G1.

Oh hey, I'm one of those ones that make "generic swirl" customs. Have you ever tried to paint a straight line like that? It's not very easy.  You also have to take into consideration Time and Material costs. I can't speak for other customisers here, but I use high quality artist acrylics, which are a lot more expensive than craft paint. 

I guess until you do it yourself, you'll never quite understand, but maybe it's best to just not say anything if you don't have anything nice to say at all, ne?

And to stay on topic..how about converting ponies into different animals? I'm guilty as charged! haha!

Okay, finally got the list updated on page 1 again.  That's a lot of 'ultimates'!  I marked the ones I've done/am working on and the ones I'm interested in making.  This will be a fun challenge!

Oh yeah and I paid twice that for an ImmortalPanda swirly custom and it was worth every penny.

Wow, that's a huge list! What are the asterisks for? Can I keep my list here for my own reference? I took a few off that I don't really want to do. Also what about gender-swapped ponies? Like making a Daddy Gusty or a boy pony from a girl mold?
