If you've seen this episode of Simpsons, you'll know what this is. The same doll is released as before but with a NEW HAT but girls want it just because of the hat. Hasbro has been doing the same thing with the Mane 6.

But I admit I have the Malibu Stacy Hat Syndrome. I see a cute little blue dress on Bridal Friends Rarity, and I WANT IT even though I already have a Rarity. Darn it, Hasbro.

(and swapped out Lulu Luck for Sweetie swirl, taped it back up expertly and gave it to my daughter, .. who loves Lulu and the set to this day!   although some day she is going to figure it out.  )

The only time I'd get duplicates is if it's one of those darn "exclusive pony ONLY comes in this set" things like Stardreams.

I really dislike getting stuck with duplicates. I only get several versions of a character if i really like that character and if there is a big difference in pose/design. Some tinsel/glitter/dress/accessory is not a good enough reason for me to buy a duplicate. I wish they would start doing more interesting things with all these re-releases.

If the pony itself is different I don't mind (except the cutie mark being on a different side or bangs/no bangs) but like fun if I am going to buy the same pony again just because it comes with a cake.

*blush*. Um, I kind of want the bridle party Fluttershy for all of her nifty accessories.  But in my defense, I don't own a Fluttershy with light pink hair.

uhm..  Genius Monster?      I told myself if she ever mentions that she wants Sweetie Swirl that I'll give her her.   Although I LOVE trying to preserve the packaging when I open Ponies (& Transformers), so it was fun that way.
