Does Hasbro still use Fading Pink hair?
« on: May 17, 2017, 01:01:29 PM »
I'm curious to know if Hasbro still uses it, or if they've heard complaints and switched to a similar color that doesn't fade.

DD has a Nurse Redheart and I've got a Pretzel and their hair is such a pretty shade of pale pink.

Has anyone ever had a G4 fade?

I wonder that too.
I know they were using the fading pink for G3 (G3 Pinkie has it) but I'm not sure about g4 considering I mostly only collect Dash. I'm curious!

I know they have at some point, there have been a couple releases of Fluttershy that used it, I believe it's the one with the Breezies or another from around that time that had it and the pink portion (it had multicoloured hair) had already faded in the package on some of them and I believe some versions of Minty do too, but they mostly seem to have dropped it

Ah, thanks for the info everyone! I've been wondering if Twirly Treats has it, her hair blend looks really similar to G3 Cotton Candy's and I know she has fading pink streaks.. I've been keeping all of my G4s out of the sun just in case anyway, but it's always nice to know for *sure*, you know? :)

I don't think I  know who that is. Well, I'll keep Pretzel out of the sun, just in case.

Is it really a "kind" of hair that fade or just the color pink who's doomed?
Because I'm pretty sure it's more a color dye problem than a hair quality one.

I think it's the dye?   I was looking at various toylines on Ghost of the Doll and a lot of other, non-Hasbro toylines that had toys with light pink hair were also described as "often found with hair faded to white."  Like Keypers, for example.

Its that specific shade. Pussy Cat. Its the shade you see on ponies like G3 Pinkie Pie and G1 Sundance.

I dunno if any G2s had it.

Yeah, it's not a MLP-exclusive thing but rather that specific shade of pink that seems to be the problem.

Oooh, that's a good point. I haven't seen any G2s with fading pink hair either but I wouldn't be surprised if they're out there..

I think Tipsy Tulip has the fading pink shade, and possibly some of the Euro ponies.  Ivy's hair doesn't seem to fade, though.
