This is a silly question, but could someone give me a step by step guide to inserting a picture from photobucket into a post here (not a link)

You need to copy the picture's link into your post. It will look like a link but it you click "preview", you will see what your message will look like as a picture. I hope this helps! It was confusing to me too when I started out.

Are you looking at how to find the pictures specific url?  If so, right click on the picture you want to post, at the bottom will be "Properties".  Click that and it will give you an info box.  I think the third option down is Address (URL) and all you have to do is highlight, copy and paste the given url to where you want to post it.  To post a picture specifically here on the pony boards, look at the options right above the text box as you're typing.  Above the smilies and (for me) below the "B" option is a little tiny box that sort of looks like the Mona Lisa.  Click that and it will automatically put in the code (bracket img bracket    bracket /img bracket) and should automatically drop the cursor between the two, where all you have to do is paste the url you copies from the picture.  Then, post as normal
