Anyone know Estonian? I need help translating
« on: November 18, 2013, 11:35:47 AM »
Hi!
    I'm having a issue if a buyer is Estonia claiming a item hasn't arrived. After being on the phone with eBay for a hour they said it would be ruled in my favor but I'm not holding my breath till it happens.  The us code stopped tracking once it left Chicago but I got a bright idea!  What if I went to the Estonia mail website and put the code in sure enough it brought up this

Track&Trace - tellimuse saadetised
* Otsi saadetist vöötkoodi alusel:

Problem is I have no idea what it's saying

Plugging it into the translation generator it say

Do does this mean it was delivered or stuck in customs?

I won't lie and say I speak Estonian but I know enough Finnish to guess with reasonable certainty that "sorteerimiskeskus" means sorting facility. It appears that the item has passed customs safely and left the said facility on Oct 29th, after which there are no updates. There is no mention of delivery.

You can apparently view the post.ee tracking page in English by clicking the little EN button in the top right-hand corner. I don't think I ever sent anything to Estonia so I unfortunately don't know how reliable or informative their system really is.

Well eBay totally just went back on their words.  They said they would rule this case in my favor as I have done all I could on my end.  This morning the ruled it in the buyers. Guess I will be spending my lunch break with eBay

By the looks of that it appears that its on its way but it did not get updated and yes that could be a customs mistake.  Its hard to tell where it is hung up though which is frustrating.  I can't really tell.  I think if you discuss this with ebay and show them the tracking information they will see it was not delivered and that may lead them to side with the buyer.  It really doesn't matter to them if it shows its shipped, it has to show delivery. :huh:  I am sorry.

I got the approval for the appeal with that information.  Between explaining what I was told previously by eBay, the lack of any communication from the buyer, the extra tracking information and they looked into why the person is no longer registered they approved it in my favor and they refunded the money to my account.

If the buyer would of been working with me on this and actually communicating I would of worked something out with them.  But I can't do much on my end for tracking down the package other then what I found out.  Honestly if someone doesn't get a order of this amount (it was for a iPhone 4S so it was a expensive sale), I'm concerned because I would be upset if a order of that much went missing.  But I would also work with the seller to track it down.

Something just seemed fishy on this sale to me.  I decided to sign up for ebays shipping global thing.  I know it's way more expensive for the buyer but it protect me from this happening again.

Thanks! I defiantly will because I do want to make sure they ended up with the item, I would feel horrible if it was me and I never got my item.  Like I said I do think something strange is going on, as I've even contacted them since and sent them the new tracking information I found trying to see if they can track it down from there.  No response again.  I send every email right now through ebay so they have proof that I am doing all I can for the buyer.  They spoke English when they were contacting me before I shipped the phone.  Then after there was no communication at all.  If I was the buyer I would be doing all within my power to find out what happened to my item if I never got it (especially with the shipping proof that shows it made it out to their country) , and when the seller is so willing to do what they can on their end!

It made more sense when I translated it from estonia to finnish (similar languages after all) and its has definately arrived in Estonia. mul-ta is right, "sorteerimiskeskus" means sorting facility and "toll" means customs.

Well the buyer still hasn't responded to any of my emails.  So I guess I just will need to let it go, since they are not helping me help them.  So either they got the item around the beginning of the month and were trying to pull a fast one on me and ebay, or they don't care enough to try and track down the package.
