I've noticed with my g1 herd that almost all of the ponies have this smell. I have no idea what it is. I think it's the smell of30+ year old plastic. But whatever it is, I like it. It smells familiar to me and I don't know why. Do your ponies have a smell? Or is it just me, the crazy lunatic who just escaped the mental ward of the hospital. :lookround:
-
it's not just you, don't worry  i live for g1 pony smell! it smells a lot like my grandmother's house to me, where i've made many happy memories.
-
G1 ponies and Puppy Breath.
You can't explain why it's amazing. It just is.
-
MMMM Pony smell... I love it!
-
most collectors love the smell of g1s. ..including me!
i think it smells like "Bath toys". probably all of the toys i used in the bath as a kid were older and had that smell haha.. but thats what i associate it with. i love it, one of the best smells.

Here I thought we were talking about scented ponies, my red roses still very strongly smells of roses.
-
They need a spray like the "New car smell" for cars.
Call it "New pony" room spray.
I'd buy it.

I could have sworn I did see someone selling a spray like that at one point?

Yes! There was a website that specifically sold a perfume that smelled like old ponies. I think it was a combo of vanilla and plasticisors.

Quick! One of us break into the facility and take some of this stuff!

Yeah they have a smell. I call it pool toy plastic smell. It doesn't do anything for me nostalgically and I only prefer to sniff my ponies if they're scented.
-
I totally vote for pony smell, and I dislike most artificial smells.
Some of the scented ponies still have their scent too, I have 2 Sorbets that still have their smell and I like that too.
-
I can't really smell anything on mine, at least not anything more than plastic.
-
only my G1 ponies smell, i fall into heaven when i open my pony cabinets, its so amazing, i guess smells a little like bubble bath, it could be the very few scented ponies i have in my collection made them all smell great.
however my most favorite is my mexican ponies, i can just sit there snorted them , maybe it comes from them.
im sure i heard somewhere that some nirvana ponies vinyl is scented?? maybe someone can share a light on that fact.
or it could be a combination of hair shampoo and condition used over the years

I'm not surprised that people like the smell (I do, too; opening the box of ponies I had in my storage locker released a really therapeutic aroma) since it's so strongly tied to memory. Just picking up a pony takes me back to when I was a kid, playing with my ponies in Gran's garden, or fighting my cousin's Voltrons with a unicorn. hahaha
It's nostalgic, and comforting.

They have the best smell in the world! :D Sometimes when I open my ponybox the smell fills the room, and when I return to the room later it's still there. So I just stand there and inhale the goodness.

I think those are the Indian Funskool ponies? Could be misremembering.

I vote for the unicorn, of course unless it was just being polite to that poor robot.
I have a pony somewhere that smells like crayon and I don't think it's a nirvana...mm I think it's a scented pony that has faded.
Now I have to get a Mexican pony cuz I didn't know those smell their own way...

It varied from day to day, but mostly the Boysenberry Pie. ;)

Poor boy-toys stand no chance against the wrath of a sweetberry pony in Gusty's pose!
