Oooh, very nice! Glad to see Pinkie's hair is more like it's shape in the show, and also more 3dish too! My favorite part of the funko ponies is that the manes and tails are not just flat shapes in a 3d world, but translated with textue and dimension. Also, Bonbon and Spitfire. I just hope to see Soarin' too if we have her.

Wow so thats the next 3 waves confirmed! We only knew about the Pinkie/Lyra and DJ/Octavia waves.
I actually really like that Octavia - she looks like she could be super cute!

Seems almost like a few of them have :drama: Pony's tail, like Spitfire and Lyra, while Octavia almost has Fluttershy's tail. Not sure if they do or not, or if it's a prototype thing, or just hard to tell from the angle.

Funko is really good about getting protos into the hands of collectors. There is a site called gemini (sorry I can't link to it) where you can buy them. Occasionally, funko will give them out as well. They have an annual event where they give out items to their collectors. It's during SDCC. I won't be able to go and probably never will so love that I have the option to buy these somewhere.

Wow- those look great! I'm really pleased with Pinkie's hair!
The sculpts on these look fantastic- Funko continues to do an amazing job! I can't wait to see these all painted in-
And of course I'm dying to see their next release- didn't they promise that something "Bigger" was in store? That means Celestia, Nightmare Moon, Chrysalis or Discord for sure in my book- hehe

On the other hoof, I hope they make DJ Pon-3 available for EVERYPONY. Not just SDCC attendees. Because, let's face it, I see those preorders on ebay for SDCC Pon-3 ....$200 is insane :/

I'm actually hoping that the rest of the mane 6 are to come. Normally the releases have been a mane 6 pony with another character.
Including Pinky there are 4 mane 6 left to go and there are 5 other characters here. So, I'm hoping some of these will actually be paired with a to be determined mane 6 character. But that could just be my wishful thinking.
I am curious about when these will come out. Usually with funko the protos show up and then production pieces are not that far behind but with so many ponies, I can't imagine how many of these will be coming soon. I don't want to wait for a whole year to see some of these.

They will make all the mane 6, they said they would, they even said AJ would have her hat. No doubt we'll likely only see AJ and Rarity in 2015, but we WILL see them. I only hope they keep putting off the mane 6 six releases so they have more excuses to make more fan favorite ponies. Hopefully more stallions too.

I'm thinking the rest of the mane six will be in the next wave of releases. It seems they are doing the same thing with the PoP series as well.
Looking forward to lyra and bon bon! I give credit to funko for producing the secondary characters, which there are quite a few of.

Well, we haven't had the full set of Main 6 for the Funkos so that's a bit different than the burshables. lol
I'm going to talk to Funko at the Fair this weekend and see if I can get any answers about the rest of the main 6. I need more Raritys for my Rarity army!

These are from gemini's site. they were available for sale a few hours ago. I know that on gemini's site once the item sells the pic goes away. I saved them so I could take a better look at who was coming. I did buy one of the protos but was not able to afford them all. So, I had to pick and choose. I know linking to gemini wasn't allowed and as I mentioned once someone bought the proto the pic would disappear.

Well, the prices were higher this time than last time- they used to be $115- but these were $135! Probably because of the popularity I guess.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they all look like painted :D

Well, let's be honest. Characters like Lyra, Octavia and Vinyl have become pretty overused too.
The only (kind of) unexpected character is Spitfire.

I'm so glad Popcultcha has started stocking these, though I won't be able to pre-order them until way after they're released in the US but at least they're cheaper than buying from ebay (not by much tho lol)... I just have to be patient!
Thanks for posting, I'm super excited to see what characters they have in store for us. Hopefully they will be released in a 'mane 6 + background character' with each wave pattern, so we can get Applejack, Rarity and Twilight before moving onto the rest. And we must get princesses and villains eventually! XD

I wish the vinyls were a bit smaller. Then I wouldn't have to limit the number of them I can collect. Out of these, I definitely want Lyra and maybe Pinkie.

Yay my Favorite background ponies! Lyra ANDDDDDDDDDD Bon Bon, omg I'm so thrilled her hair curls look so accurate, also blown away to also be seeing Spitfire, Octavia and Vinyl, if Funko where to keep making all the characters from the show I would probably sell all my Fashion style and my brushables! These are my absolute favorite figures, so accurate. Spitfire and Bon Bon look amazing out of the bunch to me, Pinkie looks great, Vinyl is the only one who looks a little odd, but not bad. Now if they started to make larger accurate Princess Luna and Celestia, Big Mac and so on, and filly sized Funkos, I think I would say goodbye to my other ponies, I know everyone on here likes brushables, but I like accurate looks.

I like the molded hair but would also like customs made from them with rooted hair... too bad the plastic is so dang stiff

Yep the mane six will come too, give them time no rush, anyways yeah a lot of the ponies have clothing pieces so it doesn't surprise me, and it will be brown and thats why Funko > Hasbro. Period. Accuracy > Laziness. Take notes Hasbro.

I can't wait for Octavia and Vinyl to be released! I'm pretty sure I'll be getting Lyra, too.
I do wish they'd pick up some of Hasbro's slack and put out a few more boys for us, though. They could've easily done Soarin' instead of Spitfire and I was really expecting a Big Mac to be somewhere in their lineup. People have been clamoring for Hasbro to make a toy of him for awhile, I thought Funko would jump right on that. I suppose I'll cross my fingers for the next "wave".
I'm a little torn about getting the main 6 again, since I already have most of them as FS. I do wish the Funko's were just a teensy bit larger so they'd match up with them a bit better, but it's an understandable sacrifice for making them nice and solid.
It's great to finally see some prototypes. Lyra and Pinkie Pie have been announced forever without a glimpse, so to be able to see so many in advance is spectacular. Although, now comes the waiting... Hopefully they'll be able to get whatever caused the production delay sorted out.

The more I look at Pinkie's prorotype....I cant help but feel like she looks like she is made out of a giant strawberry & cherry flavored gummy or fruitsnack....mmmm
Speakin of funko stuff, I saw the possible HT exclusive Funko Pop! DJ on preorder earlier when I was surfing on amazon for those interested! Didnt see Bubbles though.

Agreed. The Funko figures are good for bronies, but the brushable figures are great for kids, as well for those of us who aren't as obsessed with "show accuracy". Personally, I love some of those Funko figures, but the brushable figures will always, always trump the molded haired figures in my heart and mind. The only things that are making me not want the AJ or Spitfire figures are the non-removable accessories. I'm really obsessive when it comes to the texture of things, and I just feel frustrated when there's something non-removable on a smooth surface. That just drives me batty.

I've been collecting the Funko vinyls ever since they announced that :muffin: Pony was being released. I also got The Doctor too. That's kind of an interesting one in that it is the first toy I've got of The Doctor and it wasn't in one released by the BBC. (I'm waiting til I have enough money to afford The Eleven Doctors Box Set.) Since adding :muffin: Pony and The Doctor, I decided to get Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.
But now with these prototypes released, I know that I'm going to be able to complete my collection. I already have :muffin: Pony and The Doctor. I just need Lyra, Bon Bon, Octavia and DJ-PON3, and my collection of the background ponies will be complete and I will be a very happy pony. Of course, I will want the Mane Six as well, but those were garanteed while the background ponies were not.
Now out of curiousity, I know that both Lyra and Pinkie Pie have since been listed as Pre-Orders on Hot Topic's website, but does anyone know when they will actually be released. I'm very much a fan of what Funko is doing and I hope that they continue so that I can get both the mane six, and the background six as well.

Despite how much I love to brush ponies hair, I have plenty of G1-G3 to brush, those vinyls are great just to stare at ^^

Hopefully Funko will make an extra DJ Pon-3. And I agree it would be pointless to have made her a SDCC and MLP Fair exclusive in the first place. But after reading that the exclusive one cannot be removed from her box made me pass on her even more on top of the price. I enjoy de-boxing my ponies, letting them breathe not just stare at them in a box :huh:
And the exclusive's price is truly outrageous. Ranging from $60-$200 >_< I like DJ Pon-3 manestyle, but I'm not gonna splurge money on a pony just to sit in a flashy box :s
I'm really hoping that she'll come out a regular ;) its more affordable and easily obtainable... and she can be freed from her box!!! :D

Ya! :D plus FS Ditzy/Bubble rump/Muffins was a SDCC and MLP Fair and Hasbro's releasing her again as a regular to TRU...its like a 2nd chance to get her :3
So this'll be the ones who wasn't able to go to the conventions or don't have the money to buy her off from ebay 2nd chance to get DJ as a regular ^.^

So if these funko toys will be released in toys r us stores in the future.... does that mean a higher chancer to find the chase glitter translucent figures for more future releases!? That would be awesome since I have 3 TRU stores near me, its better than mall hoping around DFW!!

Yes because for every 24 of each pony 1 will be translucent. So the more released, the more places they are stocked [assuming they take a minimum of 24 to each store - which is probably the minimum stock anyway] the better your chance of tracking a chase figure down.

Not really true my Hot Topic only ordered 9 of each total, also I have never seen vinyls at any of the toysrus around here.

Yes but stock totals are carried by a DC and then distributed to stores. Its perhaps just that your store only stocked 9 of them. Individual Hot Topic stores dont order from Funko they order from central DCs which will carry larger selections - packs of 24 of each pony.
