Continuing with super long hair this week....

Do you have them? What do you think of them? Share some more pics!
I have all 3. I really enjoy this set, long hair, pearly body, and a gimmick, total win!

Don't have any of them but I want them all so bad. These girls are all very, very high on my wishlist. Every pearly pony must be mine...

Bangles was a childhood pony for me. I loved this set when they came out and I saved up my money to buy her. She was more expensive than some of the other adult ponies out at the time but I really wanted her.

Beautiful Bows I actually bought direct from Hasbro UK. Between 1994-5 I had correspondance with a lovely lady there at customer service. At this time she told me that there were some ponies they had left over in stock and she said it would be possible to purchase one if I wanted. So I bought Beautiful Bows. I was only 12 at the time ;) so obviously she came out of her box.

I have both of the boxes for these two, as well as their original mirror combs. Bangles was a bit more played with but they are both in good condition.
Starlight I got from a carboot sale. She is probably the most played with of the three because of her previous home, but still pretty nice.

I didn't get her with her comb, but the UK pony comic gave away mirror combs as freebies on one edition and I was lucky enough that the comb I got was Starlight's.
So I have the three of them with their combs :) and 2 boxes.
Bangles is still my favourite :) I still think these are a really pretty set.
BUT!
Those twisty things are sort of disturbingly alien if you let them get away from you ;)

Have them all :) They are kinda cool but honestly not my favourite set :P Looking for the last comb from that set that Im missing, that will take a while I guess :P

I don't have these guys yet. Honestly, not much a fan of the weird bendy snake-like twisty thing, it's a bit Borg-ish :lol:

But I'm committed to owning as many G1 ponies as possible, so eventually I will get them. Just not in a big rush to do so.

Pearly+long hair=want! I don't have any of them, sadly. I think my favorite is Bangles :biggrin:

While I would love any of these girls, if I could be gifted one I would choose Starlight because I love ponies with star themes.

Pass. These and the Great Hairs are really...well no offense, but I think they're butt ugly. The colors clash, the symbols are gaudy, the hair is weird and the pearlescence makes it worse somehow.

I'll pass on these. I had Bangles at one point but eventually sold her, she looks nice in photos but somehow she just didn't do it for me, in-person. I think it's the pearly body.. the snake bendies are pretty weird, too.
I love their fringes, though. So cute!!

Is it forgotten or just not fed through the hair properly? I have seen a lot of these over the years where the fringe has got pushed back under the mane so it looks like it doesn't have one. The fringe is rooted alternately with the long hair of the mane so it's actually pretty easy for this to happen in loose ponies :/
Fringes = cute but not the best idea for practical brushing!

On mine, its as long as the mane but would hang over her face if I wont push it back.
I think I still have the other one with an even funnier fringe. You can hardle see it on the pic (gotta take a better one), but this pony has a long fringe with the first few right and left plugs cut short :P It almost looks like two little horn lol. I totally have to check if I still own that certain pony or if I have replaced her, cant remember atm. If I do, will take a new pic tomorrow :P

I wanted one when I was a kid because long hair is :lovey: Plus the pearly bodies, it was and is a win win for me.

It's rare I'd ever pass on gen one ponies but these don't tickle my fancy. They're neat, certainly! I might change my mind if I had one in hand in nice shape, but I just feel for my own collecting purposes that I'd much prefer focusing on other ponies, at least for the moment.
Also not really a fan of the weird twisties in their hair. I see how it kind resembles a scrunchie when done right but.... I dunno, I'll just politely pass.

I don't like their style of bangs (fringe). I prefer the traditional forelock.
Mostly I just find them too extra.

Yeah...but this is what I mean ;) I guess this is probably me demonstrating my hair obsessiveness, but I remember as a kid I constantly had to pick Bangles' fringe out from where it had got caught up in the long part of her mane. The hair is rooted across the front but the forelock actually comes from plugs behind the long hair, and with frequent brushing and styling the most common thing to happen is that the fringe gets pushed back behind the longer hair and it looks like they don't have one. You can even see it with my Bangles that she doesn't have a complete fringe = whereas Beautiful Bows, who has been marginally played with in comparison, has a proper full fringe.
Your Beautiful Bows also demonstrates this issue. I am fairly certain your Bangles' fringe is there, as she has some loose strands in the picture. But they are buried down beneath the long segments of hair because of how these are rooted and how impractical it is for a pony with lots of brushing and styling plans :)

tehe most of her fringe hair is long, will take some pics after work today I think :) (cant promise as my daughter has her friend her for a sleepover, no idea what theyll do, two 14yo girls lol)

They are not on my wish list at the moment, but I would never pass over a pony if I ever managed to find one in the Wild.
