Update for all the Kiwi and Aussie collectors wanting to get their hands on the 35th Anniversary ponies without paying a fortune for overseas postage. Mighty Ape has found a supplier and should be stocking them around Feb/March next year!!! :frolic: :newpony: I'll keep you ponies updated if I get any more info but for now lets celebrate!

Awesome great ews thanks for the update
-
Thanks for the news, I'm so glad Mighty Ape is going to be able to get them in.
-
Cool news, I only learned of Mighty Ape a short time ago. I was glad to find a decent online Australian store with ponies.
-
Congrats, that's awesome news :D It really sounds like, little by little, these are spreading across the globe.
Now if only they'd kick on and get a better spread across Europe as so far I think only a few countries have seen them on shelves :/
-
Taffeta, they only got them in because I kept emailing them and asking for the ponies. If you know of a shop that might be willing to sell the, in your area/country then just bug the hell out of them until you get a response.
-
Isn't Cotton On stocking them? I thought I heard something about that.
-
Marlin, they only have the rainbow ones and aren’t going to be getting any of the others (I asked).
-
Oh no.... that's bad news for my wallet!

Oh no! That means we won't get them here in SA either. Drat...

They're here where I am in the UK - both rainbows and collector ponies - so it's not really anything I can help with in that sense. I'm more thinking about other EU countries where they haven't actually had distribution of either set. Right now I think the UK is also the only place collector ponies are appearing widely in Europe although I hope that your news is a good sign that maybe they're going to spread out more into the continent as well.
As it happens, I did write a lot to Basic Fun, to Hasbro UK and to various suppliers earlier last year about these ponies. I don't think it really helped as most of those suppliers aren't taking these in yet - but it did help with Hasbro as they were the ones who decided we didn't need the COllector Ponies. I don't know if it had any direct impact, but not long after I told them that there was a big market for them here, suddenly Basic Fun decided that Collector Ponies should come to the UK after all. But the most active people in trying to get these to Europe were a few people from Spain, and as far as I know, Spain hasn't had them yet. Europe is more complicated I think, because to Basic Fun, they think "The EU has them, that's fine", but in reality the EU is a lot of countries and right now, not all of them are stocking these.
I am so happy that Aus, NZ and SA are getting them properly, though, as I know you guys were really worried you wouldn't. Well done for your hard work in getting a result :D

No problem! It makes sense to bug people until you get an answer. Now we can request money for Christmas to put towards these ponies.

You can find Sunlight, at least, at Cotton On's Australian website right now...

Half-price, too! No idea how long she'll be in stock for, though. The Retro ponies sold out in-store (at Cotton On) very quickly, I'm told!
-
I have the rainbow ponies from Cotton On but I wanted the other ones as well. And if you read further up then you’ll know that Cotton On had no plans on getting any of the others currently out in America, which sucked.
I now wish I had waited for sales to get them but I was too impatient.

Whoops! Sorry, I swear did read the rest of the thread, but I must have missed those posts about Cotton On!

Still... at least you did manage to get them... Sunlight was the only one I managed to find at Cotton On, and that was online. :/ All the others had sold out by the time I found out about them.
It's awesome that Mighty Ape will hopefully be getting the retro ponies in, though! So thanks for sharing that info and everything! I will definitely keep an eye out. ;)
-
All good. I am thankful that I managed to get all 4 online as I’ve never seen any in the stores.
-
yeah they all (4 rainbows) sold out quick here in NZ at cotton on, with Cotton on you have to be quick as they don't hold a lot of stock on certain things. i'v missed out on other things waiting for sales.
i reckon that sunlight was a xmas gift return.
man i really hope mighty ape follow through. they did with the Loyal subject ponies when i hounded them ;)
i wonder if they will get all waves or just certain waves, collectors pose, rainbows or uni & pegs.
-
Hopefully we get everything as I sent a picture with all that was out in the US and which ones we could get from Cotton On.
-
well it looks like might ape hasn't pulled through  march is nearly over.
-
I asked for an update a while ago but so far no reply. I’ll re-email in the next week or so.
-
that would be great, thanks pony_magic.
-
Right, so I finally got a reply!! Mighty Ape say they've been struggling to find the exact ones and saw similar ones from Europe but they were not able to purchase them due to them being restricted on which terriories the supplier could sell to.
Which means they've hit a dead end.... they're still on their list of things to look for but they don't think it will happen. :yikes:
Not good news I'm afraid, unless we can help them out.
-
hey thanks for keeping us updated, i had a feeling it would turn out like that. at least MA tried though it took them like what.. 8 months.
i thought you were going to say they finally got them in as my very expensive parcel from amazon just arrived 2 hours ago. $69.70nzd for glory, moondancer and a G1 colouring in book. yay the joys of living in NZ. im happy though, that's my winter blues treat to myself
