Title: Do you need help from someone in another country?
Post by: SeashellnBubbles on June 14, 2014, 06:40:17 AM
There have been a few times on eBay where I (and apparently, others) have sought help to get something on auction because the seller won't ship to my country. Because it's a little uncomfortable to ask random people for help sometimes, I thought maybe I could start a thread where people can volunteer to be of assistance in these situations!
If you'd like to help, just post what country you're from and any limitations you might have (such as not owning a car, so unable to pick up larger objects)
If, at some time in the future, something comes up and you can't assist, just come back and note on your post "presently unavailable" or something else simple and the date  to let people know. You can either post just the general country or the city, county, state, province (such as Germany, or Hamburg Germany) and area where you can help, whichever you're more comfortable with. Even if your country already has someone volunteering, put your name in anyway! The more people, the better our chances of getting that special something that would normally be out of reach! So I'll start:

Canada, Ontario. Available

And that's it!
Thank you to anyone who can join in

I'm in New Hampshire, United States.  Available.

---------------------------------------------------------------
I've done this several times for a member here already - check out my feedback.  I prefer to do only straight-up forwarding eBay purchases or other purchases, nothing too large or bulky.

In the last year I've successfully shipped to Canada, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Australia and New Zealand.

If you want my help, you must PM me!  I don't check this thread.  I prefer just to do forwarding, I'd rather you pay for the item yourself and then have it shipped to me.

When I was in Quebec I used a mail center in Champlain NY to receive packages due to the exorbitant shipping fees to Canada (sometimes they would charge $50 to ship something worth $20!!!) It was called Border Mail Depot and it went through the Kinek network. If you're close enough to a border you can check their website and see if they have any locations that are convenient. Now it took us an hour to drive from Montreal to Champlain but we did some extra shopping to make the trip worth doing.

Otherwise, what kind of help would be needed? I'm in Texas -- would I just need to have something sent to me and then resend it? How does that work?

Otherwise, what kind of help would be needed? I'm in Texas -- would I just need to have something sent to me and then resend it? How does that work?

There are a few different ways people can help:
1) Seller won't ship out of country - the buyer from another country tells the assistant what their max bid is...say, "I want to bid on such-and-such, but cap it at $25" it'll be up to the assistant to bid however they choose as long as they don't go over the specified limit.
2) Hub effect - a buyer from another country wants a variety of items but doesn't want them shipped individually because of cost...it's more cost-effective to ship in one or two parcels. The assistant would receive the items, then ship however specified. This one can get tricky, so make sure you're good at communicating and are organized enough to get all the packages together and not forget. It'd be up to the buyer as to whether they want the assistant to open the packages and repack in a larger box, or just pack all the little boxes into a larger box.
3) The buyer uses the assistant's address as their own shipping address - this is probably the easiest of the three I've listed so far. The name on the package would be "Buyer's Name C/O (care of) Assistant's name" and then the assistant's address. When the package arrives at the assistant's address, they forward it on to the buyer. This way the assistant doesn't have to take the risk of purchasing something with their own money...the buyer pays just as they would when they win a normal auction. The only difference is that the buyer will have to reimburse the assistant before shipping can occur. The assistant has a lot of control in this situation, so again, communication and trust are paramount. This one is also good because it leaves bidding in the hands of the buyer, so if they decide to go over budget they can do so! Just be sure to include the C/O, or the assisstant might have problems picking up a package that has their address but not their name! VERY IMPORTANT for legal reasons as well.
I'm sure there are other ways to help, but I'm positively exhausted and will try to add to this when i'm better rested :)

Willing to do international shipments if your reputation is in good standing.   I've helped out some collectors in the past, and many were kind enough to help me out.   I have a car, and the post office is just down the street.

I'm in the UK  (Midlands) and I can usually help with collecting things from a store  or with buying/bidding on ebay UK or other European ebay sites, or buying from online Uk stores such as Uk TRU or Argos   :)   I accept Paypal usually but if you want to pay by another method check with me :awake:

I do go through busy times/bad health times where i might not be able to help and I cant help when I'm on holiday in Italy around June/July - but feel free to ask me anytime and I'll see if I can help you .

Important: If your item is worth more than £20, I will only send with tracking /delivery confirmation(especially around holiday times)  though as parcels arent now insured over £20 if you send by ordinary airmail (stupid Royal Mail ) :(

*currently available*  I gift wrap items for free to if you are sending something as a present to someone special or for RAOPK :lovey:

Hello,

I was pointed in this direction to get some pony help from the UK.  It's on an item from eBay (non-pony).  If anyone is willing to help please pm me.

And I'd be available to help any ponies out.  I'm located in Hawaii, US.  I've helped a few ponies before and I actually really love helping others out so drop me a pm if you ever need a little help.

Thanks, blonde

Hello,

I'm looking for someone in the US who would be willing to help me out with an auction (a MLP). The seller only ships within the US.
I live in France, Europe.

I'd be most grateful if anyone could help me out. :)

Thank you! :)

Unavailable - due to health problems.

I'm in Australia, and have no problem forwarding mail internationally, or picking up exclusive items, if paid in advance. I do have limited access to packing materials though as I have very little storage - so I don't think I'd be able to act as a hub unfortunately. I also don't mind deboxing to ship, either - I love deboxing!

Currently Available!

what a great idea! I have already been helped out this way in the past, and have also helped others, and I would be happy to help anyone out in the future as well ^^

I'm in Budapest, Hungary, and I'm available.
I use public transport, which is very good in our city, so (unless the seller really lives in the farthest outskirt districts) I can also do local pickups within Budapest to skip local sending costs.

Anyone in the USA who can help me find some dolls? I'm looking for Shopkins Shoppies, all 3 (Bubbleisha, Jessicake and Popette).  I'm positive they're going to sell out in an instant here because they likely won't arrive until just before Christmas. They're mainly carried at TRU. If you think you can help, please pm me! Thank you SO much ♡

I'm in the United States, DC metro area

I have a regular connection to Toronto Canada that people could join in (we sometimes have people moving by car and you can go free shipping if you hit one of those) sometimes both ends are collectors, sometimes not, all are reliable.

Also have family in Hong Kong that would probably be happy to help shopping, shipping or even communicating (Cantonese and Mandarin) etc.

Can get other countries.

Happy to help, but if I don't respond here email me! nisak_kasin at yahoo.com, I also have a toddler, so I can be a little slow.

Can anyone in the UK help me get this ivory color craft foam?

:/ It seems silly but I can't find this color here except in bulk multi color packs.

Looking for help on an occasional basis from Germany for eBay auctions with wire transfers. I need someone who would be willing to accept paypal from me and then pay the seller in a method that works for them; usually a wire transfer (?).  I would do it myself but it costs way too much money to do a wire transfer from the US to Germany. I may also need help with shipments once in a while if they do not post to the US.  I would be more than happy to do the same for you in return.

Any help is much appreciated,

Indiana, United States -- almost always available. I usually need help getting things from ebay Australia if the seller refuses to ship to the states. Once, a nice Arena member did a local pick up for me and sent it to me herself so it's always nice tto have the support of fellow collectors here! :lovey: :lovey:  :lovey:

In addition to MLP I'm also vintage sticker collector and want to buy a strip of stickers ($1.25 stickers + $0.65c shipping) from an eBay seller in the USA, but I'm geo-blocked from messaging/buying from them because I live in Australia.

I'm hoping someone living in USA can help me out. I want to buy a Volks FCS from their USA store (online) but I don't want to send it to a warehouse address in case something happens to it. I was hoping I could borrow someone's services as a package forwarder to New Zealand. The doll will be coming from Japan but won't be posted until July/August. I'm happy to pay or barter for services.

The last large set like this was never released in Australia so I doubt this one ever will be.

Please send me a PM if you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks for the info. I don't know if either way will be cheaper tbh, the postage to Australia is going to be pretty nasty but I can't rely on our stores stocking Fashion Styles anymore... And FS are what I predominantly collect so I need this set lol.

If anyone US or UK can help me out I'd be so thankful.

Thank you everyone for the offers to help me get the Wonderbolts FS pack! Sorry I've been absent and not replied, life has gotten a little crazy.

Can I ask the US members a quick question... How much is the set in USD?
The postage is going to be fairly high for the set as well, I don't know which would be the cheaper option, UK or US.

Sunshine: I'm sad to say that I only saw Rarity and Rainbow Dash for a week with very little stock in one store. I managed to buy my set and when I checked for them next they were sold out and never restocked (I kicked myself for not grabbing extras while I could). Ponies are not popular in Australia atm. Sorry I can't help you.  :(

$59.99 plus tax (for Indiana, total would be $65.19....or closer to $61 if you have the RED Card discount).   If you just wanted them loose, it would save a lot in shipping costs.   :)

Just outside of Montréal, Québec, Canada.  Don't have a car, so picking stuff up from homes can be a bit of a bother - sorry - but I'm happy to either have stuff delivered then redirect, or to do the legwork to local shops on your behalf.  There's a TRU just close, so if anyone's looking for NA exclusives, I got you!

Can anyone help me of you lovely US guys? I'm obsessed with a shampoo I got from the Japanese store Mitsuwa during the pony fair in Chicago. As I'll be in the US at the beginning of October would anyone of you get me one bottle from there and send it to an US address? I'd cover all costs of course.

Please find a link below with all the locations (Torrance/CA; Irvine/CA; Costa Mesa/CA; San Gabriel/CA; Los Angeles/CA; San Diego/CA; San Jose/CA; Arlington Heights/IL; Edgewater/NJ)

http://www.mitsuwa.com/locations/ (http://www.mitsuwa.com/locations/)

If anyone can help me, just send me a PM and I send you the payment and the address immediately.

Thanks a ton

I wish I went to San Jose more. Could you let me know the brand of the shampoo? I live right near a few Asian markets, so if its something that is sold elsewhere I can look for you :)

@shelvesofwhimsy

Oh that'd be so great. It is the Moisturizing Shampoo by Ichikami.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I have the small light peach colored bottle which is the right next to the big pictured bottle. It says Kracie as well on the bottle. You can purchase it online as well but shipping to Germany is outrageously high.

Could someone in the UK possibly bid on some Ebay auctions for me or act as a shipping go between depending on what the seller says?

Seller uses Global Shipping Program for International orders and for the ones I'd like to try to win it would be $100 in shipping alone. In the past I've gotten boxes of a similar size shipped for about $20 from the UK.

If the item is over a particular size volumetrically speaking, there is a huge price hike on how much it will cost to ship. The size is 90cm total if you add the width, height and depth of the box. This is because it runs with Parcelforce not Royal Mail and Parcelforce assume weight based on size rather than taking the actual weight. It's possible that the shipping for it might be the same as the GSP estimates, depending on what you're buying...

I'm at uni at the moment so can't offer to help, but I just thought you might want to look into that with the size and weight of the items. It may end up being more expensive for you.

Of course, if it's just a combined shipping issue, that's a different matter.

It's a combined shipping issue. It would be scary if 5 ponies hit 90cm

They're MOC but each one is $20 for shipping. I just got a box with 5 MOCs and a MIB playset shipped for what it costs to ship 1 of these.

The seller will not ship internationally. So I would need help with bidding, having the item shipped to you, and then forwarded to me. I will paypal you for everything of course.

(It's a collectible toy, not pony related but about the same size and weight)

If you can help, please pm me or post here.

thanks..........  :flow:

Hi there, I just posted a seperate thread as well, but I'm looking for help from the UK!

I'm looking for some help in purchasing the UK Sanrio Amiibo Cards for Animal Crossing:

http://store.nintendo.co.uk/amiibo/animal-crossing-new-leaf-sanrio-amiibo-cards-pack/11362327.html#vxOmQ1jCEdeuz6YT.97

They're only available in English in the UK and everything on Ebay is crazy priced. If there's anyone willing to help me out with buying them and then shipping to me I'd be super appreciative, we can discuss further if interested. I can pay in advance through Paypal!

Thank you!

http://data.mlpmerch.com/other-figures/manufacturer/kinder/ (we don't have Maxis)
http://data.mlpmerch.com/other-figures/manufacturer/plush-apple/

And I need help from German users: I need 20 inches (50cm) Nici MLP plushes, both sitting and standing ones. I have standing Pinkie Pie and sitting Rainbow Dash so I need anypony else. Any condition will do, price under 30$ please. If you could check out your local thrift shops I'll be super happy :)

Bumping this thread, because I believe it is such a useful and cool idea!

I'm still available to help with any purchase from Hungary ^^

ETA: in return, could someone from the US help me with a possible Amazon purchase from a seller that does not ship overseas? I'd initially be looking for advice and estimated shipping costs from the US to Hungary for some items from this same seller, to be able to determine if it'd be worth for me to purchase this way. Thank you!
