Yes she has regrind. I could be sad. Or I could be like, WHOA JEM DOLLS AT THRIFT!
Honestly her crazy face make-up complements the regrind on her cheek well. I cannot believe I am saying that but yeah.

Congrats on your treasures and useful stuff! :frolic:
-
Gosh that Roxy doll! You could easily cover that mark with a small star sticker if it bothers you but I think it gives her personality! Lovely finds!!
-
Congrats!! Sounds like a good thrifting day!
-
Woah, Jem dolls at thrift! :D I would be thrilled to find any Jem dolls, even ones with regrind or other problems. Great finds! :)

Roxy's make up is such that I didn't really notice the spot till I read what you wrote, and I have Roxy dolls on display so it really does blend in well with her colouring. I think she's a first edition doll? She looks like it but it's harder to tell on Misfits as they don't have earrings...
Really amused by her ouftit.
Congrats on all your finds :D
The only place I ever see Jem dolls these days is the toy fair :/ and actually that always has been the best place for them. They don't come up too often.

Oh! What is Jem dolls? I don’t remember them at all? But she is freakin’ AWESOME! Are they 80’s toys? *trots over to google to do some searching*
Edit: Oh my god! These dolls are as 80’s as you’ll get it! How did I miss this? Maybe I was a tad too young, in 86-87 I was 4-5 years. My parents obviosly didn’t think punky 80’s rockers should be introduced. Although I did have the Barbie Rockers.... (that I loved!)
Congrats so much with your finds! It’s all really nice, but that Jem doll is really something :inlove:

I sense a slippery slope beginning here too...?
I missed them as a kid as well, but kind of made up for it when I stumbled onto them as something to trade for ponies in around 2000 and ended up getting hooked on the show and the toys xD.
Unfortunately they didn't last very long, due to lots of reasons including Mattel's rocker dolls.

It’s a show??? This is so awesome!
Haha- I am so weak for anything 80’s- such a fun time :P
@lovebabysquirmy: I looked at all the dolls though- and I have to say- I think you found the coolest one!

^^ THis is Roxy, the character LBS found the doll for. Her show make up is a bit more emphatic.

Roxy will forever hold a special place in my heart because my dad used to play Jem with me and always picked Roxy. 30 years later he remembers her name. :)

Awesome!! I have never found Roxie in the wild, EVER.
I enjoy that someone right this moment just enjoyed the discovery of Jem dolls.
I can remember that feeling and it's a good one.
I can also remember the feeling of being a kid and wanting a Jem doll so badly, because she was cooler than Barbie (I was never, ever a Barbie girl since apparently before I can even remember, there was only one I even liked, Peaches and Cream) but ending up with poof-banged Barbie and Magical Mulletted Ken. They seemed more like a Heart cover band (and Heart was pretty uncool to me at that age) and less like they would be a punker Bangles cover band.
Which given the cartoon, and retrospect, is kind of hilarious in hindsight. Oh baby Flutterscotch, you were a ridiculous, and extremely biased little human.

Off Topic:
Stick your hand up if you had long straight hair with a poofy perm-ed type of bangs in the 80's!!!
.....I had it for years....and in the 90's a huge crested (don't know if I use the right word for it....here in The Netherlands we call bangs a pony!!!) bangs.....
-
Congrats on the finds. :o)
Ah, a thrifted Jem doll, that's like finding gold! (I never had Roxy even though she's my namesake, you're super lucky!!)
Pulled a naked Jem from the Goodwill bins last month felt like I won the lottery! Have a double now, never thought that would happen in 18 years of active thrifting...

We had in the time of Jem and Barbie and the Rockers, dolls made about a Dutch Girl Band called "The Dolly Dots!" Those where sold only in 1 shop and there was, as far as I know, only made 1 wave of them!
I'm going to search for a picture online for you guys!!! X
Here is a picture from all the dolls MIB!

I owned the doll with the white suit and the yellow and green skirt!
