Anyone see the new trailer that dropped last week for the netflix series based on Jim Henson's film The Dark Crystal? I'm really excited. It airs later this year. Can't wait to see Aughra again! She's one on my favorite movie characters.

I really liked that weird little dog thing. I’m probably going to have to watch the movie again to help me remember. I do recall thinking the bad guys were terrifying.

I loved the first film, the only thing bothering me was the constant "hmmmm" from the skeksis, lol. Anyway, I saw the trailer for the Age of Resistance a few days ago and got goosebumps allover. It is beautiful and I can't wait to see it!

Cant wait to see it!
Pretty sure they havee a time machine and went back in time to get some of the original muppets from the movie.

This is a series I am sooo much looking forward to! I need something new to obsess over now that Game of Thrones has ended. Like brightberry said, I need to rewatch the film since I hardly remember anything from childhood days. I do remember that I loved the film, just like my sister, so hopefully it will be something her and I can obsess over together again :) I got her hooked on GoT and she was devastated about the ending, not even wanting to ever hear anything about it again.

Netflix just put up the original The Dark Crystal to re-watch!
-
I hope this is good!

Is it based on the comics from not too many years ago? Those were well done.

Cannot wait. I am a big fan of The Dark Crystal. It traumatized me as a child (that scene where they drain the energy...) and years later as an adult I rewatched it and fell in love with the artistry and feel.
The trailer looked really promising. It seems like they visually captured the original perfectly. Some fans bemoaned the fact there is CG involved but I personally think it's ok to use it for effects and other enhancement as long as it's not overpowering the puppetry.

Super excited to watch this!
I re-watched the movie twice this week - yep, the essence-draining bit was gruesome (and reminds me of the look of beddy-eye baby ponies  ) and the whining Chamberlain Skeksis has his character returning in the new prequel (you hear him right at the very end of the trailer).
Aughra's character is just awesome - reminded me of my grumpy, late gran
I love how they fought to keep proper puppets instead of CGI, keeping it real!

LOL, now I see it, too. Thanks
