Title: Healthy Pony Motivation Round Sign Up
Post by: Crowning_Glory13 on March 18, 2018, 07:19:02 AM
It’s time for another round of Healthy Pony!!!

This round is all about motivation. I see a consistent trend on healthy pony rounds. Posting goes by the way side when it gets closer to the end, and at times we throw in the towel. So we are going to work on keeping the gusto going for 3 MONTHS!! how are we going to do that? By having prizes at the end!!!

I will be donating custom Wings and small knitted items for prizes. If I come across other extras for prizes, I will add them too. There could be multiple winners, but it all depends on how well you keep your gusto going! If you want to donate a prize you sure can:) it will be your responsibility to ship.

You will rate your day from 0-5. 0 being you did nothing towards your goals. 5 is going above and beyond your goals for the day. It is your responsibility to calculate your numbers each day. It’s a great idea to post daily your number to help you keep track. Pony peeps here are awesome, so I know you will be fair and honest with your scoring, just don’t  be too hard on yourself.

You can sign up at anytime!

What are your goals for 2018?
I want to make an income with Music lessons and knitting. I also want to participate in a Holiday Swap. I would also like to loose some weight that I gained from my depression. I would also like to start writing a book, and finish my knitted temperature blanket.

What do you want to accomplish in the Motivation Round of Healthy Pony?
1. Get into a work out routine. 5 days a week is ideal, but 3 days would be a good progress.
2. Get 3 months of my temperature blanket knitted.
3. Have completed knitted items ready to sell.
4. Play piano ideally 5 days a week, but 3 would be good progress.
5. Save money. Some needs to go to a pony fund, and more needs to go to a safety net when life goes wrong.
6. Take a moment to post a positive comment daily on this forum.

It looks a lot, but tiny steps with all good habits :)

What Does a 0 day look to you?
I do absolutely nothing. I veg out and not even attempt a goal. This only applies if I have the ability to do something. If I am traveling or injured, super sick then I will not be so hard on myself, but if I have the time I should at least try, and if I don’t well then it is a 0 day.

What does 5 day look to you?
When I am supper happy with my day. I could get through all of my goals, or I could reach a 3-5 day week with my goals like piano and work out! If I feel super excited to tell you all I had a great day, it is a 5 to me:)

What can you do or use for motivation ?
The 35th Anniversary ponies are in my stores right now...I want them all:) hehe. I am going to record my numbers as points and have a number of points to get the opportunity to purchase one. It will be a challenge, as I did a bit of a spree earlier this year. If I sell a lot of items I will also get bonus points:) I used to wear a two piece Swim suit and I loved how I used to look in it. So I am going to picture myself to hope keep me motivated:)

Tell us your dream
I want to make a living income on music lessons, and knitting. It is possible, just need to keep working at it:)

**********

All you have to do is fill out the sign up form and post it here:) From time to time I will ask for you to post your total scores, just to keep them in mind for prizes. You can sign up at anytime, but adding scores will not count until April 1st...and that’s no fooling:P heheh I tend to make lame jokes:)

Since I allow anytime starters, the points towards a prize from me will vary. I will announce the point goals towards the middle of the round. A way to get motivated again.

This round will start April 1st and end June 30th.  Let’s be the best ponies we can be:)

*as you move along your goals and rating can change. That is a large part of the healthy pony process, is learning what works, and what directions and paths you need to go on:)*

What are your goals for 2018?
As of March 2018:
1.  Keep up the awesome work of meal planning/food budgeting to $150/person/week.
2.  Have some kind of yard sale so we don't have three rooms of clutter in piles.
3.  Develop a greenhouse that will extend our growing season so we don't have to wait until May to plant and only get until September to finish :D

My answer in Jan 2018:
What do you want to accomplish for 2018?
1.  Budgeting our food, no more than $150 weekly per person - yes, accomplished
2.  Some kind of exercise regime - nope
3.  Employment! - nope :(
4.  Have that yard sale I've talked about for years... -nope
5. Get the floor to ceiling bookshelves installed so we can have our manga back in the house!!! - nope

What do I want to accomplish in the next three months?
1. Seed inventory!  I have no idea how many packets we have, but it's fairly chaotic and all stuffed into card binders and recipe card boxes.
2. A regular login and practice of my Spanish on Duolingo...
3. Setting up *some* kind of social media presence since it appears to be hurting my job search that I'm not "creepable".  I shudder at the thought of someone Googling
me but apparently nobody respects privacy anymore!

from January 2018:
What do you want to accomplish in your first three months?
1.  Some serious meal prep and planning so we only have to reach in the freezer, no more "it's 9pm and dinner's nowhere to be found" - mostly yes
2.  Get the DH's LEGO collection sorted properly so we have the Man Cave  returned to us, instead of an avalanche of chaos waiting to happen, what with bins and boxes and Honey-Do projects :D - DH nixed this, he got very angry and pointed out that, "the lumber alone would cost $2000-4000 and we don't have that money just sitting around so maybe after we pay off the THREE trips to the USA we had to make for YOUR family, we can consider it."  yeah he is bitter.

What do you want to accomplish in the Motivation Round of Healthy Pony?
-the perseverance to KEEP GOING

What Does a 0 day look to you?
- NOTHING done but feeling sorry for myself

What does 5 day look to you?
- all daily chores done, plus a new project with a direction started

What can you do or use for motivation?
-I visualize my garden in full happy spring blooms, when it smells of candy and sunshine
-I put on music with a good beat and dance

Tell us your dream:)
- I am not sure if I have a dream... I have always struggled with this.  Career-wise, it has NOT been helpful.

Welcome to another round :D dreams are different for everyone. Maybe start simple and discover what make you most happy and comfortable. It could simple as a happy garden year round:)

I have been sewing mostly - sizing up DD's clothing with pieces of her other too-small clothing.  I disassemble using the seam rippers and then re-sew so it can fit her for a few more months.

Also meal prepping... I made a bunch of breakfast sandwiches and cereal/fruit bars.

What are your goals for 2018?
Getting a income from my art.

What do you want to accomplish in the Motivation Round of Healthy Pony?
Setting up a Etsy store with at least two products.

What Does a 0 day look to you?
I do no art whatsoever.

What does 5 day look to you?
I work on my art for a couple of hours.

What can you do or use for motivation?
I need to get into a routine. If I've been working on my art every day for a week I don't like breaking that routine but once I do, I have a hard time getting back to to it. What's skipping one more day when I've already skipped one? But that one day which became two suddenly becomes a week or more and gone is the routine and I end up doing other things instead. Every day that I accomplish my daily goals (I have four, working on my art being one) I put an X in the column for that goal next to the date in my bullet journal monthly overview. I need a long line of Xs in each column to keep up the motivation for all of my daily goals.

Tell us your dream:)
Having my own online store selling my own designs plus other things and being able to live off of it.

What are your goals for 2018?
This time I think it would be more sensible for me to focus on wellbeing and general mental health, making positive habits and sticking to them
Make more time to read, even if it's just a little bit each day
Carry on practising the guitar, 3-5 times a week
And still making more time to see some scenery, even if it's just a walk around the outskirts of town, a short walk is still time well spent!

What do you want to accomplish in the Motivation Round of Healthy Pony?
Develop positive habits and stick to them consistently - no more slacking!

What Does a 0 day look to you?
Lozzing around doing nothing and feeling rubbish, and/or totally ignoring the mental health goals I set for myself on a daily basis. Also zoning out every two minutes and not being aware of what's actually going on. I do that far too much and it's getting to be a problem. :/

What does 5 day look to you?
Getting up early to make the most of the day (lie-ins at the weekend are okay) Making time for my goals, even if it's just a small step for each one and generally being focussed on what I'm doing.

What can you do or use for motivation?
Getting back to tracking my goals. I could make a chart for each month and mark successful days, maybe capping off each successful week with a nice sticker (I've far too many stickers of stars, dolphins and cats sitting around unused!)

Tell us your dream:)
Feeling calmer and worrying less, being more able to take a difficult situation and work out a solution rather than getting in a flap about it.

I am starting a bit early, but I have a weekend off  I have not seen that since October 2017!!! So I am making huge list of things I need to do. From cleaning to knitting to organizing! I get one point for each item.if I get 75% of my list completed, I will start off with my own personal reward points!!! I never get a weekend, so it will be great:)

Ok, here goes (although might get tweaked, I just need to get something written down).

What are your goals for 2018?
- church Christmas bazaar in November
- get through some books
- tidy craft room

What do you want to accomplish in the Motivation Round of Healthy Pony?
- get more stock made for the bazaar
- finish the current book I'm reading
- clear up loose papers and odds & ends in the craft room
- post a monthly Art & Craft thread to share new projects / shop updates

What Does a 0 day look to you?
Doing absolutely nothing, just vegging out all day. I'm having to accept that Tuesdays and Fridays likely will be low ranking days due to our schedules/family visits, but I'm hoping I might be able to give them a 1 at least if I read a bit before bed.

What does 5 day look to you?
I think I'm going to do 1 point for each hour of productivity. Probably would only be weekends that get up to a full 5.

What can you do or use for motivation ?
I have a pocket planner that I never use - going to use that to track my progress each day.

Tell us your dream
To boost my Etsy shop, and get more organized / clear out clutter I don't really need.

Great to have you again kiwi:) the scoring is your perspective. I know on nights I work double shifts or ave a theater performance, I may not get to any goals,  it I stayed healthy (no pig out on Snacks ) or i posted a lositive comment. Its only one to two goals met, but i did what i could do kn a day. That's a 4 or 5 because I only had time to gets those thing done. Choosing to make bad choices Its a 0 to 1. No being to hard on oneself.

I had a great start on the new month. After not working on my art at all during March I just spent almost two hours working on a vector. I have a dinner to attend today so I thought if I was to get anything done today I needed to begin early so I worked on the vector while having breakfast and once I started time just flew. The part of the graphic I worked on today wasn't even fun, just a repetitive tedious segment, but I stuck to it deciding I needed to finish that segment today, and I did!

I'm not going to rate the day just yet because I don't know if I'll maybe have time to do some more artwork in the evening but so far so good! Just wanted to post here to say that this kickstarted my motivation.  :)

Happy Easter everyone!
I've gotten off to a good start, rated today a 4. Did some reading, played the guitar for a while and cleaned the house. Also started tracking my goals in a nice notebook with stars on it and sliver-edged pages, so it'll encourage me to write in it and keep on top of things. I slept in til midday and stayed indoors; even though I'd allowed lie-ins at the weekend, that seemed to be a bit cheeky on the laziness front, so that's why today isn't a 5.

2018 Goals:
1. Reach a healthy weight
2. Create four 3D models
3. Complete the ADF Dedicant path
4. Organize the apartment

Motivation Round Goals:
1. Lose 30lbs through diet and a regular exercise routine
2. Complete one 3D model and display it at the Pony Fair
3. Organize the apartment and host a (very) small party

Day 0:
I do absolutely nothing towards my goals and the bare minimum towards my own self care, mostly because it's required by society and I'd rather not get fired from my job. Bills and all.

Day 5:
I leave work proud of what I've accomplished and put at least 30 minutes towards each of my personal goals, or dedicated effort towards the one with the closest deadline, knowing I'm in a comfortable enough place on the others that I can make up the small delay.

Motivation Rewards:
1. Match.com membership
2. Cosplay pattern
3. Ogham set

Dream:
I want to generate additional income through my art, to build up enough savings that I can cover any emergencies without worrying that I'll lose my home or have to choose between health care and food.

I'm starting off by making sure my work meals are made for the week. I've got the parents' anniversary this evening, but I'm going to do some tidying before I go and schedule some time for 3D practice later this week. Most of my craft time has been spent finishing up some cross stitch gifts.

Having family illness problems at the moment and am not in the right frame of mind to focus on "me" until my kid gets better - but when I do start again, soon hopefully, here are my goals:

What are your goals for 2018?
Maintain weight/exercise regime
Lose a little more weight (I have gained in March), get stronger, tone up for the summer.

What do you want to accomplish in the Motivation Round of Healthy Pony?
Falling back into a healthy routine (it has fallen apart at the moment!!)

What Does a 0 day look to you?
Family healthy - and me starting the day with a work-out, water and wholesome breakfast, clear mind and focus!

What does 5 day look to you?
Keeping up the routine, not watching any naughty snacks winking at me  ;)

What can you do or use for motivation?
Look at my short-sleeved clothes and think how much better my arms will look in them when they are healthily toned!
My new, skinny jeans - I am too scared to try them on for now but hope to do so after the 3 months!

Tell us your dream:)
Being healthy, fit, mid BMI and wearing nice clothes and STAYING like that!

Fun stuff -
complete a chandelier renovation. Fun sparkly, sparkly!!

Today gets a rating of 3; I made the effort with my goals but it was a bit of a struggle and I don't feel all that accomplished.
I got up early and had every intention of going out until I saw how bad the weather was, so I stayed indoors instead and made a little more progress on the drawers. Got naffed off with that pretty quickly and just settled for the few patches of wood I'd managed to unveil under all the old varnish.
Practised the guitar, kind of, but it came out more like aimless noodling. Tomorrow's goal is to sit down and work through a lesson first, then go over familiar things.
I got plenty of reading in and made a conscious effort to give it my full attention, making note of when my thoughts wandered off and pulling them back to the book.
Hopefully the weather will be a bit nicer tomorrow so I can get some fresh air!

I've been thinking about how to rate my days. I think I need to be hard on myself because if I'm going to start a business of my own some day I need to be able to dedicate several hours every day to it. With that in mind I'll rate my days like this.

Time dedicated on working on my art or other things related to starting a business selling it. 1 to 5 points.

1 - At least 10 minutes.
2 - 10 minutes to 1 hour.
3 - At least 1 hour, less than 3 hours.
4 - At least 3 hours, less than 5 hours.
5 - More than 5 hours.

With that I got 3 points yesterday and 1 today.

Today was my first 5 point day, which earnt a little pony sticker in my notebook.
I've been out twice, both times without any music, which was meant to help me be a bit more present but it didn't really keep my mind from wandering all that much.
Got some reading done in the morning, the only problem now is trying to find something else to read. I am way too picky with books.
Also played the guitar for a while, worked through a lesson about blues chords and had a bit of a noodle afterwards.
Overall, I feel more accomplished than yesterday, albeit not particularly focussed. That will have to come with time. :P

Whoops! Forgot to post! Here's April so far:

April 1st:
I'd say it was a 5 star day! I was social, I dressed a little nicer than normal, and I tried new foods! I spent time with a lot of people I loved and had an overall great day.

April 2nd:
A three star day. I worked hard, but didn't do much else after that. I was social, but I didn't eat or take care of myself or do any chores.

April 3rd:
A one star day. I'm a crying mess and very unhappy with myself and my appearance and I'm incredibly stressed and upset. I'd give myself a zero, but I'm not binging on food and instead trying to find a solution to what's upsetting me.

I wouldn't consider that a failure, you can't help being ill. Hope you feel better soon!

---

Today has had its ups and downs, but in putting down my notes, it put things into perspective and I decided to give myself a 5. I was really stressed out over numerous life things last night, got next to no sleep as a result and have been fighting against mental health problems and a total lack of motivation all day, but I still managed to meet the criteria of my goals, so there's another pony sticker in my notebook today.
I got past the temptation to hide in bed, got up fairly early and went into town, read one of Haruki Murakami's short stories in the afternoon and put in some guitar practice, going over my lesson from yesterday and mixing different techniques into it.
My last task is to dedicate some time to relaxation practices and hopefully get rid of some of this tension that's been making everything feel like a chore. :/

I agree illness is not a failure. You rate your day on. What you can do. If you go a day and not loose your lunvh, that's a 5 to me:) did you get rest? That's a 5 to me. Taking care of yourself is a definite 5:) that's the point of the number system. It's to reflect on your day and say, I tried. For what I had to do in a day do I deserve a 5. Now if you are healthy and you do nothing but to do nothing it's not a good score:)

I get little time but I can try and do a goal, if not we'll that's not a good number:) but getting motivated is always a good number:)

I have not posted my numbers yet.
Sunday 5. Got ALot of knitting projects done, and have one piece for sale:) that's a first for me, so the 5 was my reward:)

Monday: 1 I had little time, but it would have been a 4 if I did not go and buy junk food. Not a 0 because I did work and had play practice.

Tuesday: 3 did not do anything towards my goals but did not do any bad habits.

Wednesday: 0! I bought junk food again. I even have time to make a healthy snack but I chose junk food. Argh. 0.

I am a bit mad at myself. If I had no time to get a healthy snack well ok, but I did and there is no excuse for me. So any points collected even my super cleaning personal points are down to 0!!!! Yup. To get a reward I have to reach 50 points. That's is 10 days of 5 point days...it can happen:) it also can get slower. I want to go 10 days no buying junk food!

It's raining and motivation is low today. I've got a list of household related things to do and working on art today feels like another of the have to do's. I have no inspiration whatsoever. I think I'll just focus on doing the bare minimum today. All the things I need to do and then ten minutes of art and afterwards I'll reward myself with something fun. Like restoring a pony or browsing Ebay for pony auctions.

I had to do a course today, so I have been busy but still managed to make time for my goals. I got up at 6am and took the time to watch some wild birds fly around the garden before setting off. Walking to and from the library constitutes being active and I read some Jorge Luis Borges during the breaks. Not 100% sure if I've got the energy to play the guitar today because anxiety issues have been draining my energy a lot, but the initial aim was for at least 3 days a week and I've achieved that already. Today gets a 4 but I reckon a little reward is in order; while I normally save video games strictly for the weekend, I may treat myself to some time on Shadow of the Colossus this evening. :)

I had a tooth pulled this morning and apparently I'm not allowed to do any exercise. For 4 days. For a tooth?!

Plus all I get to eat is soft food, so I've a friend bringing me yogurt and I'm eyeing the brie in my fridge.

Restricted diet weight loss isn't my preference. Here's hoping the socket closes up quick.

April 1:  Cleaned the house for company and had a successful playdate/Easter Egg Hunt with my DD's BFF.  I'll give myself a 5 for surviving the chaos and the complete lack of routine.

April 2: Not a good day according to my journal.  Possibly a 1 day since I didn't just collapse sitting down and moping all day.

April 3: Also not a good day but I did mail another stack of paperwork to the IRS so I guess I did something extra?  Doesn't have the same sense of accomplishment though.  I'll call it a 3 to give myself a boost!

April 4: probably a 3.  I started and finished some chores but didn't finish them all.  Started a few new things but haven't wrapped up all the older ones.

Got a 2 today but all in all it was a good day since I got a lot of other stuff done. I also kept up four out five of my daily routines. I only give myself points for keeping up my art routine though because that's the one I need the most motivation to keep at.

I realized I calculated April 3 wrong, I got a 2 that day and not a 1. That means so far my days have been 3, 1, 2, 5, 2. That's far above my expectations.

Today was a 1 because I only did 10 minutes of art but I've been busy cleaning the house and doing other things so it's ok. I'm thinking 10 minutes is still better than 0 minutes because in those 10 minutes I got an idea and moved forward with it in the design.

Today gets a 5 because even though I am completely exhausted and unmotivated from persistent anxiety issues, I still gave some time to all of my goals.
For staying active, I got up early, went out early and just about survived the second day of my course.
Attempted to play the guitar but I couldn't get into it, just settled for brushing up on some new techniques for about 15 minutes.
For reading, I'm on a mission to learn more about horses at the moment and there were a couple of interesting books in the library, so I'm starting with a general overview and there's a book on the history of domesticated horses waiting for afterwards.

April 4th:

I worked today, wasn't difficult. Had friends over that night and ate good food. However, my cat mauled me pretty bad and I was really upset all day. Didn't really get much done. I'll give myself a 3.

April 5th:
I went clothes shopping, and stepped out of my comfort zone and tried new things. I wouldn't have been able to do it without a friend, but I think that's okay. Baby steps. I also opened my commissions that night and got my very first one. Was in a good mood most of the day and got personal work done. A solid 5.

April 6th:
I worked today, and I didn't try to leave early even though I found out my aunt passed. I came home to my friends cleaning up my house (they're planing to move in) but didn't help as much as I should have. I turned down dinner plans since I already ate, but I still wanted to see my friends. I'm sad my boyfriend is too busy today to do anything with me. Didn't get as much work done as I'd like. It's a 2 day.

So Thursday got 3 points. I didn't do a goal as I have no time between my job, teaching music lessons, and theater practice, but I did my day with little gusto. Just did the least amount of work expected.

Friday got 2 points. Starting on a knit project, but that is all. Finally got a scale...not as bad as I remember, but not to happy. 168lbs. Here is to working it off:)

Stay positive. It's only been a week. If we could change I. 7 days we all have perfect lives:p

Today was a 1 because there was no time or energy for more. I worked in the garden cutting down trees for a couple of hours which was physically exhausting. I kept up my routines, including working on my art, but only did the bare minimum of 10 minutes of art so it's a 1.

3 for Saturday. I did work out and knit but I was still kind of lazy so woot something but not enough to say it's a 4:)

Today gets a 3, I got up a slightly less ridiculous time than yesterday, put in a bit of practice with the guitalele, attended to a couple of things around the house and read for a while. Probably should have gone out seeing as it's been a nice day but eh, just couldn't be bothered today. :P

Today was a 2. Did almost an hour of art. Not optimal but like every other day, I've got other stuff done. I mainly focus on what I need to do each day and the art, well it's just a hobby, so it never comes first. Problem is, if I don't put it first it will never be more than a hobby.

April 5: Still not finishing things.  Keep hitting obstacles.  I give it a 1.

April 6: More of the same.  I'm starting to get more than a bit dispondent over trying to find a job.  I don't want my future employer to talk to my former (as I feel I was let go for political/personal reasons) which is really impossible given my salary needs. :(  I had to report for EI today so this always makes my day sad.  But I reported, so... I give myself a 2.

April 7: Moved furniture despite DH's irritation. No sense of accomplishment because the house is still chaos. I give it a 1.

April 8: I got absolute terrible quality sleep last night and was awoken far too early by DD to ever think that today could possibly go well.  one of those days...  we shall see what I can get done today and that will determine the points!

Awe squirmy I am so sorry on the job issues:( hope it gets better soon

Today is a 0. I got extra food again, and I have only knitted. I call it a lazy day:( Its cold and dreary and I just feel sad. I think it's mostly just a mood thing.

It's a new week. It will be a super busy one. My theater show opens next week so rehearsals galore!!! I am so nervous.

Today gets a 5 - got up nice and early, picked up a ridiculously mahoosive bag of cat litter and hauled that home, dropped it off, went into town to pick up some vegetables and stopped off in the park for a while seeing as it's a nice day. I also came across chrysanthemum tea in town and decided to give that a go, it's really nice so I got another couple of little cartons to keep in the fridge and if I do well on my goals this week, they will be my reward. I got a heap of washing done and hoovered downstairs, started on another guitar lesson and read some more about horse history as well, probably going to get some more reading in before bed. I'm determined to earn that tea. :D

Way to go on a 5 day:) :cheer:

Good luck for the show, Crowning Glory! :green:

---

Today's a 4, I got up early and went out for a nice long walk but got a bit lazy after lunch and just lozzed around for a bit. Got some reading done in the morning, about trees this time and ended up learning something about Stonehenge in the process! Also got some guitar practice done, still nudging my way towards doing barre chords; I did the sensible thing and used the Eko for it today, seeing as it's got a slimmer neck and lighter strings than the Squier, so it's less strain on my wrist. I'll build up the necessary strength eventually! :hope:

Yeah Monday was not good:( I get a 0 for buying junk food...sigh. I have a lot of stress, so I stress eat and make bad choices each day it will be a 5 or 0. Keeping things simple. 0 if I buy extras and eat junk food. 5 if I made the best choices. Once this week is over, I will be better.

Today is a 3 - I got up early, went out for a while and just ended up being annoyed by the people in town, came back and got some more stuff done around the house. Also did some more reading about trees and forestry, so that's two goals in the bag. I just can't be bothered with the guitar today, there's too much stuff going round in my head and it's just *urrgh*. :cloud:

Geez time goes way too fast, and I have been bad at tracking anything. I'd say most days are probably a 2-3, weekends probably get higher scores just due to having more time.

I have made a bit of progress on the bazaar stuff (and sent a message off to the organize that I'd like to join this year). Getting through my custom order large mailbox.

Reading and organizing haven't been great so far this month.

I was feeling great when it was getting warmer, then Easter came and we've just been so busy, when I do get to sit and rest, I want to do very little. Plus the cold/rain/snow again is putting a damper on things. I WANT SPRING ALREADY!

april 9: probably a 3 because there are insane amounts of unfinished projects around here

april 12: not a good day.  I would say a 1.

Today gets a 5, I'm still completely unmotivated and wound up but got up early and went out to get some stuff done. Also did some reading and played the guitar for a bit. I've been making an effort to be more focused as well rather than just autopiloting through the day.

I'm so behind, things have been rough  :wail:

April 8th:
I completed and posted my first commission, I was really proud of myself. I was very stressed out over my Aunt's passing and it was distracting me. I didn't eat much. I managed to get another commission thought. Solid 4.

April 9th:
I worked today, it was one of the rougher days but it wasn't awful. I worked on art when I got home and spent some time with my boyfriend. I stayed the night with my parents due to the funeral and had a nice time with my parents and watched my eating. I'd give it a 3.

April 10th:
This was the day of the funeral. I was very social with my family, but at times I felt very left out an alone. It hurts that I'm not close with my family. I was okay until I saw the coffin and I broke down from there. It's a sensitive matter so I don't want to hurt myself for being too sad because it's natural. I got some reading done on the long trip. It was a 2.

April 11th:
I called into work and said I wouldn't be back for two days. It's not right to lie but I was so beat down I needed time to myself. I spent a lot of time with my boyfriend and finished another commission. I didn't get much sleep but that was due to some poor/unexpected planning. I ate well and had a good day. A 4 I'd say.

April 12th:
I went to the zoo with my mother and had a really great time. Spent the rest of the day drawing and playing video games. I didn't clean or do anything helpful though so that takes points off. It's a 4 for that day.

Hugs that was a hard week to get through. I think you really understood the goals and how to give yourself points. We may not have the days we want to have, but that does not mean we did not do any work towards those goals.

I did not run off for extras these last few days, but I have not done much. The play has been taking a lot of time. If I get a spare moment I rest. I have given me a 3. No extras, needed the rest, but as I reflect I could have handled myself a bit better this week.

I have one performance this afternoon, and then 2 nights off!!!. I just weighed myself and I gained 2 pounds:( I know weight can fluctuate, but it was a bit of an eye opener. I am going to plan my week. My hope is to get me on a better track so when my play is over I can add to it.

Yesterday was a 3, I got up at a reasonable time, read for a while and did some hoovering, then proceeded to muck about on the PS3 for most of the afternoon. Also attempted to put in some practice on the guitar but it was a complete mess, I just couldn't focus.

Today was a 4, I got up early and went out for a job interview (on a Sunday - I don't understand the logic there), finished reading another book and played the guitar for a while. It wasn't a 5 because I've been a bit too lazy this afternoon.

Looking over my scores and notes for the week, the main stumbling block seems to be a lack of focus. I'm going to try tracking my concentration throughout this next week and see if that helps me to stay on task a bit better.

April 13th:
Busy, busy work day. I went in not expecting much, ended up with a 4 hour shift spent entirely in the back room. Ugh. Later in the day we had a party, so I was social, but I got grouchy and jealous after a few hours and slunk off to bed in a bad mood. It was a 1.

April 14th:
Work again, but a short shift. Putting things off is only going to build up more work on Monday :/ I worked on my project some, but spent a lot of the day playing video games. A 2 at best.

April 15th:
Bad day. Cried and binged, been in a real awful mood. I don't want to deal with anything and my confidence crashed. If it wasn't for me working on some art it'd be a 0 day, but I give myself a 1.

So, let's see:
13th (2) - got some crafting done
14th (4) - busy day (errands), and spent some relaxing time with the hubby which was nice and we both enjoyed just having the time together, especially because the weather is absolute crap this weekend (4+ hrs just smashing blocks in Minecraft - we're excavating the inside of a mountain and turning it into our house)
15th (4) - more crafting done, some Etsy items listed or prepped and ready to list

Today is a 4 - I went out for a long walk in the morning and again for an interview in the afternoon, despite my leg protesting the entire time. Going to have to go back to using a support bandage; I tried putting some tiger balm on it and that did a massive heap of nothing whatsoever. I'm not even sure if it can be sorted either, seeing as it's down to damaged ligaments that haven't healed properly. :/
Did some reading in the morning and I've got a Cormac McCarthy book from the library to check out, so there'll be some more time for reading before bed.
Also took the time to do some meditation this morning, it hasn't helped me to stay focussed much but it's a step in the right direction.
And I did a bit of guitar practice, just going over what I've learned recently.
Today isn't a 5 because my head's been all over the place all day and I was a bit too wrapped up in anxiety issues to actually step back and try to sort my head out.

Great numbers everyone:) wish I was posting more. This is week 2/3 for my play. Sadly I have to get a second job:( the school has me only till June 5th then off the whole summer, but since I started at an odd payroll time my paycheck won't come until the end of this month. So we gave to dip into savings to pay bills.

My system of points will be 5, for doing some type of activity in my free hours: knitting, work out, piano...and so forth.

4 is attempting, but not completing much

3 I took a break I needed

2 no motivation when I have time

1 eating bad but no money lost

0 money spent on bad things.

I am starting today. I want to get 10 points by the weekend. This will be more another 35th anniversary pony, or a bag of pony wear that someone might be selling:) if i get a 0 day, my points go to zero. I need to really work on my issue with food. I use it for comfort, but at home AND with me i have healthy items, but I like to sneak off and get junk food.

Day one (April 17) I avoided junk food, oh I was close. I need to focus on play and sleep, so 3.

April 16th:
Worked a lot, didn't get to spend any time with boyfriend so I was sad. I was productive with art and had fun on the side but nothing great. Average 3 day.

April 17th:
Got the guts to drive to the mall a city over and apply for a job. It looks promising, I really hope I get it. I took some emotional support though because I was so scared. As a result of my panic I ended up binge spending what little money I have  :( Not happy with myself. A 2 because I was social and faced my fears, but lost lots of points for spending.

I am knitting and getting some loose ends tightened. Each day at a time. I am binging on junk food and I know it's all emotionally related. I eat my emotions, and I just feel worse. I know 90% is just being tired and stressed. This is my last week of the play so I will have more time.

I have started a cleanse to help curb the bad food craving. I am just toting a large 32oz bottle of lemon water  (hoping to drink 2 of these) and a ginger tea. I hope it will curb bad cravings and focus on the good food I have before me.

Ok....danger time. You will need to add your points to the end of this month. The reason, 1. So I can see what points to have people reach for the prize:) 2. So you can say, I can get a higher number next month.

My month has been bad, so I  (no one else can:p) putting myself to 0. I need a fresh start and going only up gives me hope.

After a stressful few weeks, my kid is better and back at school. The weather is sunnier and all the Easter chocs have been eaten... oink oink...

I weighed myself yesterday   :( :( yikes, I have gained, since November, SO MANY POUNDS - I feel so ashamed... I am over my healthy BMI and feel bloated, clothes uncomfy.

- BUT -

I am now in the right frame of mind to kick this all into shape!

Fired up MFP to log all my food intake, prepped some healthy meals for the day and upped my Metformin back to 2 tablets (last Nov, was asked to try it at 2 instead of 3, then down to 1 tablet, but I have not had a period since Dec so I am slowly going back up to the previous dose to see if this changes things).

I am now back at the gym (had to stop last month to stay home to look after kid - staying up late at night meant I was too tired for the 5am wake-up, then staying home all day to look after her while husband was at work).

So - I have set myself a mini goal - as it is always easier to break things down into smaller steps -
lose a certain amount by end of May - and hopefully be within healthy BMI again.

Long term goal - Be at or below my November weight by Aug/Sept.

Right - off to prep my meals for today!

This afternoon is my last show for the play! I am so glad to be done with that stress. I did bond with one person as a friend, but the rest of the ladies have been two faced. From over hearing horrible things said about me to, being stated that my view of trying to get others to feel better about themselves and having a positive outlook is just a mask for myself being hateful towards myself. I do have self issues to myself, but I find joy when other feel happy. I retorted back with that and got the you can’t love others if you don’t love yourself. Yes that’s a hard truth, but uncalled for when the whole point of the conversation was to get into a positive place....in short people can suck horribly and I am so happy to be out of this play.

So I am starting my score at 0 for May. I am focusing on me. I am 170lbs and it all comes from junk food and eating more meals a day than one should. So I get a work out in it’s a 5. I spend any money on pony or junk food without my husband’s knowledge is a 0. I need to be saving money not spending it. Piano I s a 5 day as well, but with two jobs it will be hard. My weight is making me more depressed and doing worse actions, so it take priority to work on.

Please give me your total scores for the Month of April, once April ends:) this way you have something to work on.

I kept bad track, so I have to beat 30 points. 1 point for each day. I am still keeping my punishment of getting a 0 is making my total points 0. It’s my way of saying ‘you know better’

Hope to hear from you all soon:)

Good grief CG those people are little nasty cat brats. ROFLOL it sounds to me like they have some issues with their own identities here and are projecting that on to you.  Insecurity on the high end there.  Good thing this revisit to your childhood locker room days is over.  Hugs  Stay positive because negativity doesn't help us move forward.  Instead, it is like treading through quick sand.

I am so far behind. I can’t seem to stay motivated on reporting my progress (which isn’t much lately) although I still make heathy choices. I even took the stairs at the hotel I stayed at recently instead of the elevator.

Recording can be hard. It's ok to give yourself a score too. There 31 days. 1 point each day is 31 and 5 points would be 155. So gauge your month from there:) you are still reflecting on your progress:)

I did buy a pony...bad me. But I did knit AND walked a football track twice:) it was a way to deal with my sadness.

4 point today. Got some good things in buy should have waited on the pony.

Eek! Is it May already?! I really need to get a fresh start on this; I really fell off the horse, lost track of my goals and my self-care routine along the way. April was a really duff month. :/
Having sat down to think about it a bit, my slightly reworked goals for May are...
1. Do something creative every day - whether it's writing, drawing or music. An underlying task for this is to make sure that I don't rely on muscle memory (in relation to drawing and playing the guitar) so I don't keep going over the same things incessantly.
2. Meditation every day - doesn't have to be for long, the main point is setting aside some quiet time in the day.
3. Staying active - can be going out for a walk, cleaning the house or gardening. I have no excuse to loaf around the place feeling bored.
4. Reading - probably the one goal I have actually excelled with, but it's still a task to focus on the text and read more slowly/take things in properly.
5. Being more present - keeping my mind from wandering is impossible but I can notice when it happens and come back to the situation at hand instead of spacing out altogether.

Based on these new goals, today is about a 3. I've been out into town twice, read for a while in the morning and had a short meditation session. Can't really motivate myself creatively today, too many things in life are grinding my gears. :pout:

I need to post more on here. I tallied April up to a 52...not horrible, but could be much better.
But I have been making progress - I keep planning towards the bazaar, and all of the flat work done on the 2nd mailbox card holder order (just need to assemble it now). I did completely slack off a few days in April pretty bad (even not having any posts going out on 2 separate weekends).

52 is not bad for your first month Kiwi:) but now you have a goal to beat!!!! I know you can do it! Nice progress on your mail box. We all need a break on things from time to time.

May 1 I ended with 4. May 2, 1 point >_<. I had a double shift and thought I needed mire food to not be hungry all evening...sigh choose junk food. I gave myself 1 point as I did walk around a football track for a bit and was on my feet for my second job.

Today should be better for me. I am trying to get heeded to eating less, but eating things that make me feel full. Water intake is good. I average 32oz a day. I do want to bump that up to 40oz if I can.

Post those totals! Then you know what to work on, even if you lost track estimate it:) then you have a goal!

I gave myself a 30 for April. I lost a lot of tracking, but that is about 1 point a day...yeah effort:) now in May I am going to beat it!!!

If you beat your monthly total you get closer to winning a prize from me:)

Mailbox is finished, woot! I'll post pics soon (buyer gets first peek of course). I'm giving today a 5, it was crazy day at work but I still finished the mailbox after thinking I'd flop and not move.

I can not wait to see the mailbox. Same day I would live to do a craft swap with y ou Kiwi:) just need to get my life back to order.

Did not do anything towards my goals, but no bad choices, so that is a plus. 3 for me. I resisted alot of things and just needed a night off.

I almost bought junk food last evening!!! I DIDN'T DO IT!!! So as a bonus and working from 7:00am to 10:30pm I am giving myself a 5!

Whew. I get a nice week if evenings off after this weekend, so I hope to catch up on knitting AND prizes to be sent out

I'm counting today as a 5 - delivered the mailbox, and an impromptu stop at Value Village netted me a perfect display stand for the bazaar, for $5! (and it's still early, so maybe still get some crafting done, but still a very win day)

Way to go CG! 6 pounds is great progress.

Yes, I need to get the pics up online, and then I will post (hopefully tomorrow). Yesterday continued good after I posted - we went out to see Infinity War, and on the way stopped at Michael's and Walmart, so I could get a frame and photo album for my table.

I'm giving today a 5 as well. I cleaned the display thing, pulled out a tub to start collecting things in, and prepped a bunch more. Oh and a rough sample diagram of my table setup. Pretty productive day!

I'd like to forget the latter half of April happened.  Depression has been really hard on me.
Have to do some soul-searching to figure out what to do with my future, as finding a job in my previous profession is proving to be something I truly don't enjoy. :(

Then garden time came so I have been mostly outside with a shovel and lots of dirt!

Sometimes we think we will like a job, and once in, not so much. I am in that boat. 3 jobs. 2 I dread going to and 1 I love, but can't completely pay the bills. I keep looking and hope I can land something.

Today has been hard....trying really hard to not binge today:(

I came close yesterday. I did get some cheese. Healthy than my normal junk food, so 4. I am walking extra at work and knitting like mad. I have some super late projects that need to get wrapped up.

There might be a move in my future...like this summer, so I have started selling to save up. Someday we will have 1 place to call home....trying to smile.

Well I have been a terrible host:( I can’t even keep up with my posts. I have another job change. My school job was not supposed to be a sub position, but it is. So I am don’t June 5th. On a good note I sent out applications and got a sales position working with selling vacation rentals. My work is all on commission, so that is a bit freaky for me, but I only need 1 sale a week to live comfortable. I have to move to another area for it, and will start June 8th. Not much time. So I am going to be limited.

I hope Sunday I will have all my prizes from a March contest finished, and a knit commission finished so I can ship Tuesday. After that I won’t be taking anything on until the Fall. Really want to focus on this job. Working match, if I get 1 sale a day For a week, can pay my bills for 3 months and have plenty of funds left over. This is all speculation, so my focus is to learn the job and work as much as possible to reach that point.

Sadly my binging got bad and I am back to 170:( found a phone app to help out. I hope it works. It tracks my steps, so I feel a bit better and not so lazy when I realize I have about 10,000 steps a day. Any point to better confidence will help. I will try to post when I can, but with a move and a new job, I don’t know.

Sadly this will be my last healthy pony, until my life gets some stability. If anyone ones to star on of their own, even in the middle of this one, go ahead. I feel this one has just fallen apart, and with me not able to have t8me to post, it might be time t9 just throw in the towel.

Good luck to you all. My heart and prayers are with you as you reach your goals.

Don't give up Crowning Glory. :) You can still make healthy choices when you can even if you make a lot of unhealthy ones too. I think it's also okay to take a break from focusing on healthy choices when you have a lot going on in life. I have been absolutely terrible about posting this time. I feel like have no energy after to work left to think about healthy habits.

Hi! I haven't been on here in weeks. My cat died and all my routines came to a halt after that. I didn't feel like doing anything but things I really felt like doing or things that really needed to be done so I've barely touched my art for weeks.

I'm sad to see the challenge not continuing but I'll try to keep my art routine up by myself. Thanks for the motivation this gave me. This challenge really worked for me for the first month until I lost my dear kitty.

Thank you. No, it's never easy, no matter how many times you go through it.  :(

Well, I guess I could host another round of some kind if others would be interested in it.  :)

Are these kinds of challenges always called Healthy Pony and are they always set up the same way?
Title: Re: Healthy Pony Motivation Round Sign Up

It started with sourdoughstomper. There was once a weight loss group and then she changed to making healthy choices, and when she felt she couldn't do it, I took over:)

It's been called healthy pony for the most part, but each round I hosted had differences. Not all of them had points, or prizes or requirements. The only consistent thing was doing 3 months. Any longer it gets hard, and any shorter it can feel fast.

If you host, it's how you want to do it:) there is no right or wrong, it's all about getting people together who all want to work on themselves and need a support system.

I will join and give you all the support I can:) I hate to see it disappear:)

Ok so we only have a few weeks left...i know I am not the only one who has crashed and burned. But the time has come to be hard on myself. That 160 pounds I once reached is gone. Wasted more money on junk food. Enough is enough. I have an addiction and a horrible relationship with food. So I am going to work hard these last two weeks. I am going to be honest with what I am eating, and what exercise I am actually doing. I have my record system going.

I have a new job and moving going on this month. If someone starts another round of healthy pony i will join, just not as active. If nothing has popped up by September, I will be setting one up again.

I am ending strong!

So weird. I only had a few chips, and a chocolate treat. All tracked and 100 calories. I didn't eat lunch because I had those and was not hungry. I feel like I over ate..sigh. So much for a strong attempt. Well tomorrow is another day.

I have really slacked in posting. I have been working on things, but definitely slacked.
I was doing great with daily store posts until I took a week of vacation from work, and it was just nice to have a break from everything. But I thought, it's ok, everyone needs a vacation. Fully expecting to get back into my routine after....not so much. But really it was only a week off routine, and I'm getting back into it.

Plus life got in the way with things that took my focus - new cell phone, new car, and new water heater. It's been a busy few weeks.
