I can't see the picture I'm afraid :(

I'd say $250-400 depending on her condition and how clear her symbols are :)

You can use the share menu from the website rather than the in-forum widget; just copy the bbcode and paste it into your message.  ^.^

Sunbeam with a rainbow mane and tail is worth that much ^.^

I finally had the time to look and I do have Sunstone. She does have some head-body mismatch, but the head is still stuck to the body with the original glue.

How can I double check that she really is Sunstone and not a Sunbeam with re-hair?

You would have to remove her head I am afraid.

Is this the one you're talking about?  I just googled the name and found this on My Little Wiki.  I'd never heard of her before!

@pkw: I really would like to prevent that.

Isn't there a slight (body)color difference between sunbeam and moonstone?

You can look at the colour and texture of her hair since it is unique to Italy ponies.

I've never had both an Italy Moonstone and Italy Sunbeam together so I've never been able to compare them. Hopefully another member can help with comparison pictures :)

Do you think she has had a head swap? You mentioned her head and body don't match?

Another thing that can help is the province of the pony, who/where/when did you get her from and such :)

I have just made some pictures to compare all 3: Sunstone, Moonstone and Sunbeam. I'll add them in a minute.
The body of Moonstone is a bit lighter than Sunbeam. The body of Sunstone is the same color as Sunbeam. The head of my Sunstone is indead lighter than the body and more the color of Moonstone... but...... the green part of the hair is a different color. Sunstone's green is darker than the hair of Moonstone.

My Sunstone also has a factory flaw regarding the hair. The yellow parts are also in between the red and there is a loose yellow strike of hair way out of the straight line....

I don't think my Sunstone has a swapped head (because of the hair and the original glued neckseam), but due to the prices Sunstone is going for, as a buyer I would want to be sure of that.

What would she be worth in this condition? No haircuts, symbol is in decent condition, some head-body mismatch.

I've done some research and found quite a few Sunstones with the same head and body mismatch.

Her hair does look different, is the pink/red the same as Moonstones red/pink? It appears darker to me, but it might be because the yellow is mixed in.

I found another Sunstone with a darker green stripe :)

I'm going to suggest $300 or so for her, but taking offers might be a good idea :)

I'll have a look next weekend. I need good daylight to check :).

I also found more Sunstones with the head-body mismatch. It seems to be a common problem for her. I'm not sure yet if I'll sell her. I must say I was hoping for a bit more, due to her symbol and no-haircut (and I really like the factory fault in her hair... it really makes her special to me).

I like her flaw as well :) but it might not appeal to all collectors (along with the head and body mismatch) which is why I have priced her at $300. I would not accept any less for her, but if you accept offers on her she may go for more.

Sunstone usually sells for between $250-400 :)

I have to admit my bias if I found the pony's neck seam loose and having a head/body mismatch I would suspect she was a franken-pony using italian moonstone and sunbeam

I thought the hallmark of a sunstone was the lighter body color - like she was supposed to be a factory walking pose moonstone but got a sunbeam stamp instead ... but dunno if she was regular production and not a factory error.

If she was an actual produced pony (like magenta blossom, applescotch, etc.) that would make sense there are plenty out there

I had rainbow-haired Sunbeam years ago and I don't remember her having a head-body mismatch.  She was definitely sky blue like Sunbeam, not powder blue like Moonstone.  I'll see if I can find my old pictures of her.

She is a Sunbeam rooted with rainbow hair, so it's the hair that is "wrong" (or a variant).  :)  The body and the stamp are both Sunbeam's.

Edit:

So I dug out my old pictures of Sunbeam.

I did compare her body color to Moonstone and Sunbeam back then, and she was Sunbeam's color.  No head-body mismatch.

I am confident the one I had was "real" as I got her waaay back in the early days of MLP collecting (like late 90s) and neither I nor the seller realized she was rare. I think I traded two regular Surprises for her, and I thought I was getting Moonstone because she was described as "blue Italy unicorn with rainbow hair", lol.  (Ahhh, the days when people traded without pictures because no one had a digital camera.  Now that was a gamble every time, lol.)

Has anyone personally found a head-body mismatched Sunbeam "in the wild"?  As in, "I just got this from the flea market", not "I bought it from someone who SAID they found it at the flea market"?   To be honest I think the mismatched ones are not legitimate.  :/  Sorry to be a negative nancy, but that would be a really easy scam to pull . . . switch in the head and tail from a Moonstone and glue down the head.

That's indeed the reason I asked. Although the colours of her hair seem to be slightly different than Moonstone.... that could be the difference between a fake and real one?
